Expert Consulting, But Portal Speed Needs Improvement
What do you like best about the product?
Consulting Services, experts are very knowledgeable and customer focused

Portal is sometimes slow and through random error when downloading reports

Flexibility in subscription pricing, functionality with S/4Hana

I am not currently subscribed so I am uncertain but it seems like Vertex is a good fit for manufacturing companies

I am interested in using Vertex to reduce the manual efforts required as part of our monthly indirect compliance processes, I also believe it should help with more accurate taxability of our products and services offered to customers

the ability to calculate taxes with updated jursidiction rulings, something our internal home-grown system was unable to do.

none of the features we have implemented or used have been unhelpful. each one is useful and makes an impact

categorizing our assortment of 100k items which is allowing us to reach our kpi of 99.98% tax accuracy.
Robust Features, But Not as Intuitive as Avalara for New Users
What do you like best about the product?
It is very robust and the user experience for mapping and creating rules is greet.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not the most intuitive use. I was with Avalara for many years and Im new to Vertex, and so far, ease of use seems better with Avalara. but again, Im new

Currently we are using Vertex for tax calculations on resale tickets from resellers. The instance so far is great.
Seamless Tax Integration, But Support Response Needs Improvement

Seemless tax info returned from Vertex cloud to our ERP. SIC log

Vertex support is slow to address issues. I entered 1 on 10/21 and they had uncertainty if the $64,000 support that we pay is covered. Issue is still not resovled

What do you like best about the product?
Our CSAM, Tom Carter is great. I would highly recommend him to anyone. He is very good at his job. Great presenter at Exchange. Very valuable asset. Knows the product inside and out.
What do you dislike about the product?
The process around submitting a service request. The documentation and process to prove our case is cumbersome and time consuming. Research should be more proactive in my opinion and meet me in the middle at least. I'm in the leasing industry and it is unique. I feel that I constantly have to prove what I need instead of research trying to understand. Cases are closed without resolution and understanding.

Indirect sales and use taxes, CUT.
