User-Friendly Interface, But Reporting Needs Improvement
What do you like best about the product?
UI friendly, not overly complex. Easy to access returns.
What do you dislike about the product?
Reporting feature could be more robust. When making updates it locks the system and cannot be accessed. This causes delays in being able to process exemptions real time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Management of tax rules and return processing and filing.

I appreciate everyone's accommodations. I am a first timer and it has been great to meet new people and learn about Vertex

I have nothing bad to say as this is my first time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tax preparation and driving taxability of PO and invoices for use tax.
Excellent Support and Relationships, But Limited by Legacy Data Integration
What do you like best about the product?
Customer support is very good. Sales Reps are good a developing a strong working relationship with our team.
What do you dislike about the product?
No their fault, but some of our data sources are antiquated and Vertex isn't able to access and integrate data from those systems.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it for Sales and Use Tax returns in most States

I do like how easy is to customize tax results

It seems to be tailored specifically for users of SAP or Oracle.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I need to calculate the correct tax for each type of product.
Excellent UI and Product Categories, But Lacks Custom Tax Rule Features
What do you like best about the product?
they have a better ui experience than other vendor products. also they have better product categories available to use for mapping. they also have good certificate center module to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
they don't have good features available to create custom tax rules and also not many rules available for motor vehicles especially to manage cross border scenarios.

currently used to calculate indirect tax for all revenue streams globally
Great Team and Software, But Needs Bulk Customer Deletion Featu

I like the software and the people I work with at Vertex

Not able to delete customers in Vertex O by qroup

Highly Configurable and Integrative, But Navigation Can Be Tricky

Software is highly configurable. Allows ease to integrate with multiple billing system

Software can be very difficult to find where changes need to be made.

staying compliant with ever changing tax regulations, Allows us to research whether products or services we provide are taxable in a particular state.
Easy to Use, Rich Content, and Excellent Help Desk Support

Ease of use, expansive content, great Help Desk response

Tax Assist rules are difficult to configure on occasion - it feels like there should be more options/more obvious options

Keeping on top of rate changes and taxability changes

Easy reporting for tax returns and upload files for online filing

tax mapping changes. Doesn't happen often but can be challenging to remember/navigate

tax rate changes for sales tax billed to customers and taxability of POs. Helps so that I don't have to focus on looking for updated tax rates and rules.
