Great for Detailed Insights and Integrations, But Can Be Overwhelming
What do you like best about the product?
As an IT specialist using New Relic every day, I've come to deeply appreciate the tool's all-in-one observability feature. It's like having a bird's-eye view of my entire tech stack. Whether it's the front end, back end, or infrastructure, I can monitor, debug, and improve every aspect with ease. This gives me a level of control that's hard to match. It's like having a powerful microscope to inspect every aspect of the software we run. This helps me troubleshoot and optimize our systems for maximum efficiency, which is a game-changer in my daily work.
One feature I particularly enjoy is the integration support. With over 600 integrations available, New Relic smoothly meshes with almost any tool we use in our tech stack. This interoperability saves me time and reduces friction in my workflow, as I can handle many tasks from within New Relic itself, without having to switch between different tools.

What do you dislike about the product?
On the flip side, while it's hard to find much to criticize about New Relic, there's one thing that can be a bit of a challenge. With such an extensive range of features, it can sometimes be overwhelming, especially for new users or those not deeply familiar with all aspects of system monitoring. I would love to see more streamlined onboarding and user-friendly guides to help navigate the tool more easily.
Also, a minor gripe I have is with the visualization aspect. While the data provided is comprehensive, I feel that the visualization tools could be more intuitive and aesthetically pleasing. A more engaging visual representation of data could make it easier to interpret complex information at a glance and share insights with non-technical team members.

One of the biggest benefits I've found with New Relic is its ability to offer real-time insights into our system's performance. This allows us to proactively tackle potential issues before they turn into significant problems, saving us considerable time and resources. In the tech world, where every second counts, this is a massive advantage.

What do you dislike about the product?
I guess these days the most challenging side of NR is the complexity of the platform - extensive features and capabilities can be overwhelming for users who are new to monitoring and observability. Setting up and configuring the platform may require a learning curve, and some users may find it challenging to fully utilize all the available features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're using NR mostly for application performance monitoring

Costly: New Relic One is a paid platform, and some businesses may find the cost prohibitive.
Inflexible compared to several other platforms: Fresh Relic One's flexibility falls short of that of several other observability systems, including ELK Stack. For organizations with complicated requirements, this may be an issue.

New Relic - best infra monitoring tool out there
What do you like best about the product?
New relic has so many features from api metrics visualization to infra time series data, rpm visualizations , alerts for critical conditions , nrql to visualise data as we need and many more features. One more great feature is the current trend vs historical trend which is provided in apm transaction dashboard
What do you dislike about the product?
Since it handles a lot of data loading time is quite low and data beyond 1 month is not available as far as I know. Recently pricing was increased, and smaller companies share accounts to manage the costs. And its integration with spring boot doesn't provide an option to start our own transaction in AOP(aspect oriented programming - typically we wanted to write an annotation to track any method and log its time to new relic)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Infra and application metrics visualisation are extremely important, and new-relic is providing good insights. In comparison to its open source alternatives like promethues coupled with grafana it provies more granular time series data, and nrql(New relic query language) very effective compared to any other query languages.
Set up monitoring in minutes
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to get started and tons of useful custom metrics to monitor the application/servers effectively
What do you dislike about the product?
the volume of data it ingests is sometimes on the higher side what I felt, that might increase the costs. I believe there should be ways to reduce the same
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lots of custom metrics provided for server level monitoring helps to identify/troubleshoot the issues quickly. On the app monitoring side, it becomes easy to find the culprit with.
