All is by terminal, even we have ubuntu desktop, we have to use teerminal

Best Linux Distribution
What do you like best about the product?
It is a free source software, it is free, constantly being updated, with lots of options. Easy to install, to use it, so powerful and beatiful comparing with rest of Linux distros. If you have any problem you have a huge community to ask.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some libraries get old and there are not compatible with new verions, therefore very difficult to install if you must use them with last verisons of Ubuntu.
Last updates have increased the minimun requirements, which force to some old machines to run older versions of Ubuntu.

It is the main Operating System for all the PCs of the company.

It is the best open source Operating System, even I would say it is headed to be better than Windows.

What do you like best about the product?
Ubuntu is so easy to use, it's like a sandbox to play in for a software developer. Installing programs is a synch, there is a ridiculous amount of supported packages for Ubuntu, I have yet to find one that doesn't support Ubuntu. It's extremely customizable with extremely low overhead code, or 'fat'. It's extremely fast and easy to manage, and the bash command line is really intuitive.
What do you dislike about the product?
Ubuntu 18 is rough around the edges, I have had several issues with startup and GUI crashing. I've managed to fix a few issues, and I know the team is trying to iron out the bugs, but it's pretty annoying to deal with. That being said, Ubuntu 16 is in great condition, and that is what I usually use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use ubuntu in all my VM's that I can for rapid prototype development. I also use it on several internal projects that I collaborate on, it's easy to pass code between teammates with dependencies and get a quick install going. Several of our in-house applications also run on ubuntu.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are a strong linux user, and are considering trying Ubuntu I highly recommend it. I have used CENTOS, RED HAT, and MATE, but Ubuntu has been my favorite of those, with only MATE coming close. I have really enjoyed it, and I hope you do to. It's a great tool.

What do you like best about the product?
I like that's very similar to windows talking about the user interface, which is easy to navigate and use, and a Windows user can switch to Ubuntu without much trouble. You can find in Ubuntu a "Windows" interface with a lot of customization. All this with the advantages of the free source and the Linux operating system.
What do you dislike about the product?
I hate installing drivers so much, it's not as easy as in Windows and you need to download the drivers and the package promptly, and it freezes sometimes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I used it for many projects in my computer engineering career, to simulate 3D environments with physics through an openg based qt editor.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are a Windows user and consider Ubuntu or KDE, choose Ubuntu, it is so easy to do and you will find that the transition between Windows and Linux is not a big problem. I think it's a really friendly operating system.
A million times better than windows

The online support community is huge and there's really nothing it can't do.

There really is nothing I dislike that I wasn't expecting when I use it.

Super quick and easy setup for web servers as well as simple file and data storage. e.g. GIT repositories

What do you like best about the product?
I have been using Ubuntu for over 10 years and I have had zero problems. I have never had to format the laptop because it was running slow like it happens with Windows. I have only formatted when I had to change the version of Ubuntu LTS, that is, every 4 years!!!!
What do you dislike about the product?
Absolutely nothing, plus everything is very configurable, you can adapt it to different desktops, it starts up very quickly and especially if you have it installed on an SSD. I have three laptops and on all three I have Ubuntu installed, on one of them with an SSD and it starts up in just 3 seconds.... 1-2-3!!!!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It solves many problems, primarily because it is open source, meaning you don't pay anything for it. It has a very large community that helps you with everything. There are large groups on Telegram where they assist you, the installation is very simple, etc., etc.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Really try and install this open-source operating system, you will forget about paying money for a license, nor will you pay for Microsoft Office since it comes with LibreOffice integrated, which is the same and compatible with all documents, Word, Excel, etc. It is very fast in execution, very lightweight, and I am pleasantly happy to have been using it for over 10 years!!

It is simple to install and use. Besides, it is nice and cosy

The new GNOME 3 on Ubuntu 18.04 still has some small imperfections
