Ubuntu - a good OS but shadowed by centos in production
What do you like best about the product?
Ubuntu is simplicity redefined. Super easy to get started with.
Ubuntu is good for small dev environments as well as for general purpose daily use as it has a smashing UI and very complete features as compared to CentOS - my other primary OS but unfortunately this does not translate well to other usages such as production environments.

What do you dislike about the product?
While documentation is complete, the package manager is not very straightforward when automation is needed.
There are other limitations as well such as we often are unable to get some specific package installed or there is some weird dependency required which cannot be directly installed. I find that centos handles this beautifully and there are fewer hiccups there. It may be my personal bad experience or some very specific and weird scenario but I find that centos is a better competitor for production environments which is probably validated by its wide industrial use.

Ubuntu has been a staple in my life for a very long time. I've used it in dev environments as well as a daily driver OS and I am in awe of its completeness and feature rich presentation. I have mostly used it for its powerful command line but it has a very good set of components that make it extremely valuable.

Some business applications run better Under Ubuntu and are the preferred system for them. I use Graylog and Observium servers for example. Our business applications are also running under Ubuntu.

Ubuntu - Linux Operating System distribution
What do you like best about the product?
Ubuntu has a better advantage than any other Linux distribution . No distribution is better than each other whether it’s fedora , Ubuntu , mint or others . all are equivalent . But Ubuntu has advantages over other Linux distribution , if i compare Fedora with Ubuntu , Fedora a poor choice for product development e.g. embedded systems , people used to say fedora is fast in fixing things but fedora also fast in breaking things . Ubuntu advantage is large based of package with stability which fedora or other do miss it .Ubuntu maintain consistency when it’s about fixing things but others do break things quicker than ubuntu even they fix quick
What do you dislike about the product?
Application or file searching on Ubuntu 17/18.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tried latest stable kernel version in Ubuntu 16. RTLink Wifi driver is added as kernel driver instead of module and made my Ubuntu desktop could work with the WiFi receiver

Ubuntu don’t have closed software, but only open and free. Ubuntu maintain consistency when it’s about fixing things.
Choice of package Ubuntu always wins
It’s not about which one is best but ubuntu is user friendly and effective

Best Free OS with really BIG community
What do you like best about the product?
Free software with a very big community will be helpful, you face the problem somebody out there has faced the problem, do not face a problem with popular app/software.
What do you dislike about the product?
don't trust the newest version in my experience we have always face a big problem such as a blank screen, that is normal because ubuntu is not an exclusive OS to the particular device so much porting needs to be done.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
fast os, safer system for deploying tech to the public, support from another big app/software company
Recommendations to others considering the product:
if you are a developer need something free and fast, I think ubuntu is cover so much edge in software development if you want something much simpler go Mac instead. Do you hate terminal? if you nerd you don't just try it and trial and error.

The GUI interface of Ubuntu is not quite so impressive. Some Applications which are specifically built for windows in .exe or .mse format cant be used in ubuntu, they cant even be installed using wine software also
It has a disadvantage of not being able to use gaming applications and some other application are also not supported by ubuntu, but it makes the work very easier with coding and stuff

So, that way i find some other OS to be more comfortable
Besides making open source at an ease, ubuntu has made the life of every Information Technology Based person at ease,
I recently did an internship with a leading software based company and the whole project was based on Ubuntu Kernel , as it provides us a mehanism to interact with yhe linux shell and explore new things to develop and invent stuff

Sometimes the OS becomes unsatble or become slow and some user interaction tools become invisible if updates are not insatll9on a timely manner.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Since most of the tools are prebuilt in there is no need to install a software additionally, only if the system prompts to download.
We use Ubuntu to monitor nertsork traffic and is also used as serverside OS since it has more tools in builts to manage network breakdowns and it can be fixed without human interference.

If you are first time user consider ubuntu to be dual boot because it can be a bit difficult for traditional windows OS users, once familiar you can consider full time using Ubuntu OS
