What do you like best about the product?
I love Ubuntu's reliability, performance, and accessibility.
What do you dislike about the product?
Microsoft's ecosystem only grudgingly works with it, which is annoying, but Google's ecosystem works great.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's hands-down the best OS for web development, as well as my personal favorite for servers. It has drastically reduced the amount of time I have to spend getting new dev systems configured for development, and has provided years of uninterrupted uptime for servers.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend looking around at all Ubuntu can do out-of-the-box, it's impressive. You should consider trying out Evolution for email if you like Outlook, otherwise Thunderbird does a fairly good job.

Also, while it's not required, I recommend getting to know the command line, once you get used to what it can do you'll never want to go back to a system without it :)

Ubuntu is User friendly

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Without a doubt ubuntu is free and secure to downloading and installing softwares. No virus attacks in ubuntu. It also saves the antivirus cost.Ubuntu has a strong community support and it is the one of the biggest advantages over other distros.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Ubuntu Logo appears corrupted or just looks odd while booting. When GRUB runs, the boot sector part of your hard disk contains information about which OS you can boot. This sector sometimes gets corrupted due to a system crash or power loss and your computer won't boot
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is free to use. There are no restrictions while installing softwares for our business need.

What do you like best about the product?
It doesn't use a lot of resources.it is so fast to load and it seems you have an SSD drive. Bootup within 7 seconds on HHD. The OS is smooth and loaded with appliancations. It is very stable.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it has a converter for file format to work with Windows. I wish it has an application library to work with Windows.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Trying to get Ubuntu for Unix environment for testing purposes. I realized why spend so much on Windows if Ubuntu can deliver. I wish it can deliver more.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's a good OS. Give it time to mature to work alongside the big boy Microsoft.

Jam-packed

  • September 22, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The mere fact that the packages you install work together and are stable but also almost new makes it a must have for developers and administrators working on the bleeding-edge of the scene, the package manager especially is like compatible so people coming from Debian wouldn't have trouble getting started with Ubuntu though there are few adjustments that you have to make like the initialization system and etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes when you're looking for packages you have to scour their repositories or look for user-made repositories on the internet to be able to use the package that you need, with that being said; it may also come that your system will break because of a package not natively supported in the eco system of the version of Ubuntu you are using
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I've developed backend servers and web applications with Ubuntu and deployed them also with Ubuntu as the Operating System and as I can say, it is very stable and would cater the needs of the majority
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're new to the Linux Ecosystem then Ubuntu is a must-have because it introduces you to Linux with such ease that you wouldn't even have to use a manual to get the feel of it.

For hardcore developers and system administrators; all the tools that you need to start working is already in the Package Manager and it is up for you to install them and maintain them accordingly.

With the right people and the right mindset with this Operating System, everything is possible.
