What do you like best about the product?
Is easy to use and friendly. You can use this system as the main operative system.

It has still problems for gamers. It has bugs on the interface and It can be hard to configure sometimes. The main theme is not the best I saw in Linux
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is nice for programming. If you want a system for working, Ubuntu can be one of the best options for you.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Linux is a world apart. If you want a new operative system, and you are starting as a Linux user, this can be a nice option for you.

The software store and .deb packages are nice. There are a lot of apps that you can install in your Pc and use in UIbuntu

Best Linux Distribution

What do you like best about the product?
It is a free source software, it is free, constantly being updated, with lots of options. Easy to install, to use it, so powerful and beatiful comparing with rest of Linux distros. If you have any problem you have a huge community to ask.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some libraries get old and there are not compatible with new verions, therefore very difficult to install if you must use them with last verisons of Ubuntu.
Last updates have increased the minimun requirements, which force to some old machines to run older versions of Ubuntu.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is the main Operating System for all the PCs of the company.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is the best open source Operating System, even I would say it is headed to be better than Windows.

I love ubuntu

What do you like best about the product?
Ubuntu is so easy to use, it's like a sandbox to play in for a software developer. Installing programs is a synch, there is a ridiculous amount of supported packages for Ubuntu, I have yet to find one that doesn't support Ubuntu. It's extremely customizable with extremely low overhead code, or 'fat'. It's extremely fast and easy to manage, and the bash command line is really intuitive.
What do you dislike about the product?
Ubuntu 18 is rough around the edges, I have had several issues with startup and GUI crashing. I've managed to fix a few issues, and I know the team is trying to iron out the bugs, but it's pretty annoying to deal with. That being said, Ubuntu 16 is in great condition, and that is what I usually use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use ubuntu in all my VM's that I can for rapid prototype development. I also use it on several internal projects that I collaborate on, it's easy to pass code between teammates with dependencies and get a quick install going. Several of our in-house applications also run on ubuntu.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are a strong linux user, and are considering trying Ubuntu I highly recommend it. I have used CENTOS, RED HAT, and MATE, but Ubuntu has been my favorite of those, with only MATE coming close. I have really enjoyed it, and I hope you do to. It's a great tool.

What do you like best about the product?

What do you dislike about the product?
can be a hassle sometimes, esp when we have to upgrade all the packages for the newer versions of ubuntu.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

One of the easiest to use Linux operating systems

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?

I like that's very similar to windows talking about the user interface, which is easy to navigate and use, and a Windows user can switch to Ubuntu without much trouble. You can find in Ubuntu a "Windows" interface with a lot of customization. All this with the advantages of the free source and the Linux operating system.
What do you dislike about the product?
I hate installing drivers so much, it's not as easy as in Windows and you need to download the drivers and the package promptly, and it freezes sometimes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I used it for many projects in my computer engineering career, to simulate 3D environments with physics through an openg based qt editor.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are a Windows user and consider Ubuntu or KDE, choose Ubuntu, it is so easy to do and you will find that the transition between Windows and Linux is not a big problem. I think it's a really friendly operating system.

Although Common Always Changing

What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about this product is that it has a wide user base so that if you every get into trouble the answer is usually a quick Google away
What do you dislike about the product?
What I really don't like is that the back end keeps changing on what Ubuntu include and what they don't or just basically how they do things changes from one LTE version to the next
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are utilizing this in our labs and as they are labs we are trying to keep the cost down and hence why Ubuntu and not Redhat (yes we could have used Centos but here we are use to the Debian flavour hence Ubuntu)
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Each Company needs to select its own flavor of Linux if it chooses to go down that path
