What do you like best about the product?
1st of all it is light weight OS due to that processor and memory consumption is low than windows OS, one of the best for the developers to develop the application or software on it. Easy to use and commond line is easy to for anykind of setup.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some time due to permissions in root not able to retain the sudo permission any minor changes done end up with some this mess some time, some applicaton won't open, sometimes some features stops working.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Purchasing huge lot of the OS Lisences is the biggest nightmare for any company and maintaining the lisences, while in ubuntu we don't need to buy any lisences to work on anything. Just install any community based software or application and you are good to go.

Essential open source operating system

  • August 02, 2023
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ubuntu is a configurable, free and open-source operating system maintained by a non-profit community free of commercial interest that works both on new high-end hardware as well as on older machines to increase their long-term value for business or education.
What do you dislike about the product?
Community discussion/support can get a bit too technical sometimes. Device driver support has been problematic for certain peripheral devices in the past.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a professional user and web developer, I prefer an operating system that allows me to configure and fine-tune system settings and preferences beyond the usual end-user options. But I also need a system that provides a stable desktop environment suitable for productivity and development software. Ubuntu is a Linux distribution that combines both aspects out of the box.

The last enterprise worthy linux standing

  • July 18, 2023
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's the last opensoruce long term reliable enterprise worthy linux. The copetition has all moved to closed ecosystem tryign to force licencing models.
The installer is text mode by default.
What do you dislike about the product?
apt is clunky compared to things like yum
snap is filled with unmaintined bits of software than can be dangerously out of date.
Still to much a desktop OS thats problmatic on servers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it in the sever space primarilty at our scale out storage tier. It's fairly easy to strip down for use in a server role and have good ceph support. We moved over as we needed a long term support as we see 5+ years as part of our storage archtecture in it's primary role and do not expect to look at major updates during that time.

Most Optimised and Developer Friendly Operating System.

  • July 11, 2023
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I have used Ubuntu throughout my career in Information Technology to develop and design software and application. Trust me; it is the most reliable and developer-friendly Operating system with lots of features that are associated with developers ecosystems. Ubuntu is a Linux-based distro based on Debian and is primarily designed to provide users with a lightweight and practical user-rich experience.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is no major dislike about using Ubuntu, but certain features must be documented well so that people with less knowledge of using Linux distro can go through it and use it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use it daily to maintain and develop software programs and applications efficiently and reliably and for my daily tasks and workload.
