Ubuntu: A true Linux gem

What do you like best about the product?
1. I've found Ubuntu to be the most stable among OSs, even more than Windows and MacOS. You can rely on it. Especially the LTS releases are brick solid.
2. The APT repositories are full of all sorts of software and with ever-increasing support for proprietary software, you will feel at home even when afar.
3. The best community and customer support you can have. Websites like askubuntu.com are something you won't get when working on any other OS.
4. Customisation: If you're into it, you can make your Ubuntu truly yours. Everything is super easy to do and use. If you want to make some changes, solutions are the easiest to implement here.
5. Integrates seamlessly with other OSs and understands all protocols and hard disk formats.
6. The best part: the most secure OS to ever exist and hence I use it daily for everything.
What do you dislike about the product?
Only thing to be disliked is Cannonical''s decisions.
1. Them trying to for snaps on you.
2. Telemetry & Data collection enabled by default.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is my daily driver. I use it for everything. I chose Ubuntu because as a software engineer, I like to fix my own problems. I can easily write scripts, make cron jobs, host servers, make my own cloud super easily and reliably.

Ubuntu for Linux

What do you like best about the product?
1. Ease of Setup. First things first, Ubuntu is open source and we have good communiities with all kinds of support with respect to releases, installations, troubleshootings.
2. Updates and security - All the updates are easily installed via the repositories.
3.Customization and system resources.
4. Access to contemporary free Applications.
5. user-friendly and easily accessible.
6. No bloatware.
7. Package management - we can update everything - OS installed software, you name it with either a few clicks in a GUI or a single command.
What do you dislike about the product?
1. Lack of support for few specific hardware drivers.
2. lack of support for few famous middleware applications.
3. Not much suitable for beginners to use.
4. Limited support for good games.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main benefit is that while Ubuntu has high system requirements by Linux standards, it is a completely modern operating system that can be run on machinery that Windows doesn’t want to run on. There are computers that can run Ubuntu just fine, but can’t run well, or at all, on any Windows newer than XP. The same goes for old Intel/Macs abandoned by Apple. Stick Ubuntu on them and they’re right back to being first-class citizens, able to run all software and still getting regular security updates. I’m typing this on a laptop that will be 14 years old come September. Windows 11 won’t even install on it unless I hacked it.

Ubuntu is not my first recommendation for a GNU/Linux distribution, but I don’t recommend against it, either ways its good to decent in the market.

What do you like best about the product?
When you want to promote the world of FOSS, you look directly at Ubuntu. I love the package it presents for a starting user and it's lovely pricetag of being free!
What do you dislike about the product?
If only they came up with a solution to support Microsoft Office, I mean it runs on Android right? That's Linux in its core as well. If they did, they will dominate Windows!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ubuntu is light on resources, free and it open to all kinds of customization we need in the corporate world. It allows us to get things done, the way we need in just about the right workspace we can tailor.

Best and most popular open source OS

What do you like best about the product?
From installing the OS, installing different packages, monitoring, security everything is straightforward in Ubuntu. The CLI is even very easy to handle and to work on. It has very user friendly GUI. It is very light OS than windows in terms of system requirements and performance. If you are familier with command line , the "apt" command litrally does everything for you from installing ,removing, updating any installed package. Also it is better to do multiple manual processes to install single thing. Also Ubuntu's packages and dependencies are eaisly available so its easy for your deployments. Every ubuntu release provides 5 years or support for the updates.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is not much thing to dislike about Ubuntu. One thing there are too many patches and very frequent patches are released. The other one is when we install any package, its very difficult to remove the package dependencies. Though we use purge, we need to check and remove all the dependencies if they are not totally removed. So to keep the env clean you have to either autoremove the dependencies or check manually for the remaining packages from DPKG to remove it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The CLI is very easy to use. You don't need too much of industry experience to understand the process or how to work on this. The installation of any work environment is really easy with the comands. Managing security with WAF or security groups or monitoring through integrated third party apps. It is better to use this OS than to purchase an expensive license for the same work which Ubuntu provides. IT is also easy for me to setup the system or environment for the developers and also to work on that. We can integrate multiple tech with ubuntu very easily , if we want to use third party packages or databases or storage system or any other thing. Also it is very easy to keep the working env of multiple developers on the same stack if we use Ansible with it.
