Steady CDN with quirks
What do you like best about the product?
It was easy to setup and there's enough documentation and support to make it all work. Good amount of pre-defined libraries to hook it up.
What do you dislike about the product?
Very complicated navigation on the site. Hard to figure out transformations taking place. Pricing model for transformations in videos is not transparent.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows us to store and serve large amounts of images and videos on demand. Allows us transform images on the fly. Allows customers to upload their custom assets to be served to their customers and employees.
Allows us to stream uploaded videos to prevent mp4s from being exposed and downloaded by end users.
We don't need to host CDN ourselves and can rely on Cloudinary to take care of the server up time and traffic.
It allows us to see the amount of traffic to the site and amount of assets being viewed and downloaded by our customers.

For an asset within a folder, I wanted to know if I uploaded the image against an older image without having to go to Open > Summary navigation. Maybe grouping of the image within the folder will help such case.

Cloudinary are wizards when it comes to images and video
What do you like best about the product?
Cloudinary provides instant transformations on all of out images used in a large scale ecommerce site. They are fast and their image optimizations are insane. We can apply filters, scaling, cropping and a ton of other optimizations through a simple URL parameter and get the image we want/need nearly as fast the first time than an image that already exists.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI / Dashboard could be easier to navigate and to find what you are looking for. I often have to click around a bunch to get what I want.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cloudinary provides all of our asset delivery and optimization to our .com and App properties. It is incalculable how much bandwidth they save us, along with keeping our SEO vitals in the green. We're are currently in planning to use them for our complete DAM service provider now that they have built this out more completely.

There is a bit of a learning curve, and definitely a bit more suited towards developers or no-coders.

Standardizing images with tons of edits and transformations, and delivering them through a fast CDN, at scale.

Switching to Cloudinary for our training videos, we've experienced flawless streaming performance!
What do you like best about the product?
The streaming performance has been a complete game-changer for our cybersecurity awareness training program. Before switching to Cloudinary, we constantly dealt with buffering issues and inconsistent video quality that frustrated both our team and trainees. Now, our videos load instantly and stream smoothly regardless of the viewer's connection speed or device. What really sets Cloudinary apart for me is their dynamic transformation capabilities. Being able to automatically optimize video quality, resize content on-the-fly, and deliver the perfect format for each user's device has eliminated so many headaches. It's incredibly satisfying to finally have a platform that just works reliably, letting us focus on creating great training content instead of troubleshooting technical issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
Early on we ran into some issues around dynamic transformations causing our videos to be constantly reprocessed, which then made the video fail to load while the processing was happening. The documentation is comprehensive, but I found myself spending more time than anticipated figuring out the proper settings.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cloudinary eliminated our constant video buffering and quality issues while automatically optimizing content for different devices, allowing us to deliver our cybersecurity training experiences without the technical headaches we used to face.
