Embracing event streaming using confluent at a fintech

  • November 14, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Best part about confluent is that it's very easy get started with setting up new topics from the confluent dashboard itself and manage allowed producers and consumers. Also it makes it very easy to set up and interact via pipelines on confluent.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not yet real time, there have been a lot of instances where we failed to interpret the exact behaviour just because it'd take considerable amount of time to see updates on message consumptions, consumer lag etc. Also, being the company that confluent is, a better UX is expected from the dashboard.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've changed a lot of existing flows in our company which were initially dependent on webhooks and polling to Kafka based workflows which has inturn helped us with improved success rates of transactions.

What do you dislike about the product?
The overall learning curve of the platform is very high. As a individual I had to know about basics of lot of topics Kafka, connectors, security. Their documentation is not upto the mark especially on deployment and is not beginner friendly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluent is trying to solve ease of building, deploying and security of event streaming applications. Once I was ready with the basics of underlying architecture of stream processing confluent makes the development of application a cake walk.

Confluent - our favourite Kafka Cloud provider

  • November 10, 2023
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Confluent provides a fully managed Kafka Service, allowing us as developers to focus on building applications rather than managing the underlying infrastructure.
What do you dislike about the product?
When using a fully managed Kafka service, you create a dependency on the provider with some limitations and, of course, a cost.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluent gives us the ability to create an event-driven microservices architecture with Kafka.
