Kafka
What do you like best about the product?
We use it mainly for Kafka usecases in our company and it's design makes things simple like what are the accesses for the topic and all, what data is flowing.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think login is quite glitchy, each time I refresh it use to get logged out.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Basically Kafka usecases.
Has good stability and helps with real-time data streaming feature
What is our primary use case?
We had a legacy website collecting user data as they logged into the portal. We wanted to capture that information in Snowflake and store it in a mobile app. We used Apache Kafka on Confluent Cloud for real-time data streaming.
What is most valuable?
It is a single platform to publish any information on any given topic. In case of huge transactions on the web or mobile apps, it helps you capture real-time data and analyze it.
What needs improvement?
There could be an in-built feature for data analysis.
For how long have I used the solution?
We have been using Apache Kafka on Confluent Cloud for a year.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I rate the product’s stability a nine out of ten. There is room for improvement as we need to put some effort into setting it up to develop use cases.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The product is highly scalable.
How are customer service and support?
The technical support services are good.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup requires effort to deploy in the cloud or local environments. Once the servers and other prerequisites are ready, it is simple. It took us one month to complete the process. However, the approximate deployment time depends on particular use cases.
What about the implementation team?
We implemented the product in-house.
What other advice do I have?
I recommend Apache Kafka on Confluent Cloud and rate it a ten out of ten.
Confluent - Real-Time Data Streaming!
What do you like best about the product?
I really like the documentation and real-life examples for using Confluent. I like how they provide as many "out of the box" features reducing development time. I haven't come across another product or toolset that integrates with this amount of apps either.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish schema validation was available in the dev cluster. The pricing tiers seem to have some hidden costs that I think should be better understood and transparent.,
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Moving away from our slow ETL process
seamless experience
What do you like best about the product?
Smooth integration, and resilence and stability.
What do you dislike about the product?
nothing as of now which I dont like in confluence
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Streaming data made easy
What do you like best about the product?
Confluent makes streaming of data easy, managable and provides scale which enterprise software needs, Confluent dashboard helps setting up, docs are good and support multiple platforms.
What do you dislike about the product?
Documentation and tutorial for the beginners can be improved, this can help in onboarding more devs to use confluent product and its dashboard.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluent is solving the issue of helping companies scale ther stream services and manage everything, all at once through its intuitive dashbaord.
Best Platform for reinventing your Data Architecture
What do you like best about the product?
Confluent has eradicated the management constraints of self-managed Kafka Architecture enabling users to move from monolith to Microservice architecture. In Data Engineering, Confluent provides plugins to power real-time data.
What do you dislike about the product?
Confluent can open source more plugins under community License.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluent is a reinvention on top of Apache Kafka and provides several other features like Kafka Connect and KsqlDB. Instead of managing the Kafka architecture and connectors, one can focus more on building upon the architecture available.
Confluent makes managing Kafka a breeze
What do you like best about the product?
The most valuable part of using Confluent is that it cares about the developer experience. The tools they provide are easy to use, so developers can focus on delivering business value and not worry about managing Kafka and its related components. Uptime with Confluent Cloud is top-rate; their support is knowledgable and helpful, and they are willing to jump on Zoom calls to help troubleshoot.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some configuration settings for Kafka Connect are not exposed on all connectors, and others have limits you cannot override. Lack of IDP-initiated SSO is frustrating, but there are workarounds.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluent makes managing Kafka and related services easy; the uptime and configuration work, they make monitoring Kafka easy, and provide an excellent user experience to view billing in near real-time. These things allow me to focus on building new products and delivering value to the company instead of concentrating on managing Kafka.
Kafka made easy
What do you like best about the product?
Confluent provides as much or as little assistance as needed to get you up and running with Kafka without the complexity and operational burden of running it yourself.
We prototype using local dockerized Kafka services and flip over to the managed equivalents in our live environments.
Even on a lower tier plan we see excellent uptime and have had no significant disruptions.
When we have had questions Confluent has been able to answer them and provide suggestions both within their offerings and outside of them.
Deployed and configured through Terraform to make infrastructure setup consistent.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you are looking specifically for managed Kafka there is really no downside I see to using Confluent.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Kafka serves as the event-stream backbone of our data applications. Confluent provides managed Kafka services that keep our platform running without the distraction of managing Kafka directly.
