A modern video platform with flair, that does almost everything you need it to do
What do you like best about the product?
Kaltura Video Cloud provides a robust and configurable video platform that admins can customize to the organization's branding, standards, and unique needs and use cases. It's easy to use, looks modern and sleek, and just works.
What do you dislike about the product?
The video editing capabilities of Kaltura are limited, and often require workarounds to make even simple edits.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Kaltura is providing a platform for our internal video content. We have loads of such content, and require an internal platform to house and share it.

What do you like best about the product?
As downtime is very important when you have an inventory of more than 4,000 videos, we're happy to report we've NEVER experienced downtime in 12+ years.
What do you dislike about the product?
They are more expensive than some competitors.

We needed a content delivery program that could deliver in every format, with no downtime.

What do you like best about the product?
In the 21st century, developing professional-level skills in digital communication is particularly critical for personal and team success. Kaltura's Video Cloud solution, along with its suite of screen capture recording products, enables universities to prioritize the development of these real-world skills among their students. Learners can easily practice and master digital presenting skills by integrating both webcam and visual content into elegant, high-quality video recordings. Once established as the presentation platform of choice across multiple courses, students can regularly produce valuable professional portfolio artifacts that significantly enhance their employment competitiveness.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only improvement I would suggest is to make provision for multiple persons to concurrently participate in making a recording. At present, we reply on video conferencing platforms to create team-based presentations. In addition, it would be helpful if integrating a digital background would be possible, much like what you see in Zoom and MS Teams digital image-based backgrounds.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Kaltura Video Cloud and its suite of screen capturing products, provides me with the tools to create proprietary teaching content and curate relevant learning material. I can organize and present my content in a variety of clear and flexible ways.
Onprem - Product Nice & Good
What do you like best about the product?
I'm a on prem admin, kaltura offers wide variety of function & features when it comes to streaming platform.. And in the cloud they are expanding it which is good
What do you dislike about the product?
On prem support, sometimes it took more time to even have a look in to the issue than anticipated which can be improved
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Enables a large audience to be addressed with a single live event and delivers the stream to end users without causing many problems in the network.

What do you like best about the product?
The player V7 and its content management system have great power.
What do you dislike about the product?
The statistics should improve a bit, the market begins to demand more types of statistics such as average consumption time, consumption by content and user, etc.

Media management, automated publishing and feature-rich player.

What do you like best about the product?
How helpful the support team is when I need them, which is rare. They are always quick to respond and even video chat. YAY. My rep (Kevin Chapman) is always looking for ways to help how we use Kaltura at our institution.
What do you dislike about the product?
If I had to say one thing it would be the duplication of video upload my users have. (( For some reason not many people understand the purpose of rendering time )) even though there is an animated image stating it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The thing about Kaltura, they listen to the end user .. No issues as of yet. everything I have asked for has been resolved.
Kaltura is a very helpful tool for educational video storage
What do you like best about the product?
Our institution has been using Kaltura as a video cloud for education for nearly three years, and we have been delighted with its services. The upload and storage repository is easy to understand and navigate, it is simple to organize your videos into different categories and add tags to find your videos, and it integrates with our LMS (Canvas) seamlessly. The sharing functions are easy to use, making reviewing videos quick and painless. Our students aren't required to use the upload or edit tools very often, but in the few instances they do, they don't seem to have any issues. Creating in-video quizzes is a nice feature for our purposes, and it's easy to do. Relative to other video cloud platforms, Kaltura is affordable for what it offers. We previously used Vimeo, which didn't have all the features we needed, and in our review of other video platforms, Kaltura seemed to have the best features, support, and price. Finally, Kaltura is continually improving; several helpful upgrades have kept Kaltura fresh and valuable in the short time we've used it.
What do you dislike about the product?
Any negative comments I provide will be more nit-picky than necessarily significant complaints, but a few things could be improved. Our support person sometimes isn't as quickly responsive as we would like for general inquiries, though the support is great when there is an issue. For captions, their process for getting professional, live captioning seems a bit cumbersome, so we have used an external captioner instead. For our purposes, other features like live classroom or the media center aren't worth it, though other institutions may find it better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Kaltura is helping us solve the issue of how best to store, organize, deliver, share, and edit our course videos. Features such as integration into Canvas, in-video quizzes, categorizing, captioning, and direct embedding have all be vast improvements over our previous video tool.

Sometimes there is a lot of configuration. However, this allows you to tailor it to your needs

It allows us to store all our videos in one place and use them in the LMS and a video platform

Fast and efficient to use. Good, responsive customer care when required.

The site is organised in an unusual way which takes a while to get used to. Guess this is due to its complexity.

What do you like best about the product?
It's one of the most versatile platforms I ever worked with. Easy to use, easy to connect with other APIs. But more importantly, the post-sale support it's been fantastic. All the teams, sales and engineers are always willing to help.
What do you dislike about the product?
Besides the great customer support, sometimes resolving issues takes more than expected. And also, there is a miss communication between the sales team and the engineering team.

Kaltura came to the company to eliminate all the other video distribution providers to implement one single platform with great capabilities and its great capabilities of integration allows to the company keep all the video distribution in one single portal.
