Qlik Sense Enterprise - 3 years into the journey after starting from scratch
What do you like best about the product?
) Ease of use, from importing/modeling data to creating visualizations.
2) Our analysts spend less time creating reports and more time analyzing/synthesizing information, which has created a leverage point for our internal analysts. They are much happier now too. We have converted many MS Access/Excel people to embedded Qlik developers that can write their own apps vs. having to send the BI team requirements for implementation.
3) The training time to covert people is also quick - I can have an analyst no longer using Excel within a month of some hands on sessions using their own data and their own business case.
4) The company has also saved lots of time and money by automating standard reporting.
5) Ease of use for end-users (not developers) - we achieved an 80% adoption rate within 3 months of initial launch. All our salespeople logged in so that they could audit/check their variable compensation. And they continued to keep logging in since it gave them new and faster insights into the business. As a result, they were fully engaged and eventually began to request apps/dashboards that we had not initially thought of.
6) Qlik Consulting Team is highly knowledgeable. As a new customer that had never had a BI platform, their consultants led us through a highly methodical, well-planned approach to getting our initial apps developed and lauched.
7) Qlik Community - the resources available online to help solve issue or learn about functionality has been tremendously valuable to our internal developers/power users.

What do you dislike about the product?
1) Integration with other Qlik products (from acquisitions) can be problematic. NPrinting connections sometimes do not work (e.g., On-Demand Printing function). Qlik Data Catalyst doesn't always synch properly, especially after a version upgrade.
2) user management between other Qlik apps requires custom scripting with RestAPIs. A consolidated user management tool would be nice.
3) exporting objects to a documentation tool (like Excel) for propagating upstream Master Items (out of the app level) is not native but can be done with the 3rd party (Qlikview Cookbook). We have had to do this many times as we optimize our apps on a regular basis in order to maintain data governance and streamline nightly load processes.
4) The Qlik Insights button rarely returns a good suggestion. It lacks context and doesn't really save developers and business users any time. So, we really do not ever need to use this feature.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1) General dashboarding/KPIs - business decisions are more timely since information flow has hastened
2) Reporting automation/optimization - much less manual spreadhsheet work
3) Advanced analytics (e.g., risk analysis, customer lifecycle analysis) - predictive analysis that allows the business to anticipate problems rather than reacting to them
4) Data Governance - we deal with many upstream sources of data that are homogeneous in concept but heterogeneous in data schema. Qlik Sense gives us a enhanced view into the raw "as is" data to check for data inconsistencies . We use a 3rd party extension as a 'write-back' that allows data stewards to profile and map data.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do your research and fully test out every vendor with as many use cases as possible. You should not only be testing the software but the responsiveness of the company representatives (Sales, Implementation, Sales Engineers) as well.

The most comprehensive Data Visualization tool!
What do you like best about the product?
Qlik Sense offers an easy-to-use user interface, matched with an extremely robust back end. Data load, transformation, security, and governance are managed easily and in the most professional and secure way. The ability to aggregate millions and billions of rows on the fly, without the need in pre-aggregating, makes it very effective in terms of getting to the desired insights faster and in the most cost-effective way.
One of the strongest areas is loading and combining data from multiple data sources. With Qlik Sense' robust Data Load scripting language, we can load data from virtually any data source, merge and associate data elements from multiple sources and analyze that versatile data in one App. Truly magical, comparing to other tools that I've tried in my 30+ years of IT background...
While the tool is intuitive and easy to pick up in a few days, it offers a lot of depth. For extremely complex data analytics, it offers comprehensive tools and robust functions that can tackle issues of utmost complexity.
I've been using the tool, and its predecessor QlikView, for almost 20 years, and I'm still in love with their magic!

What do you dislike about the product?
Compared to QlikView, Qlik Sense is targeting the business users audience, which makes the user interface simpler to use, at the expense of professional developers giving up their control over the presentation features. The charts are mostly configured automatically, with very few configurable settings. It saves a lot of time, however it makes it more difficult to create a particular "look and feel". This gap is somewhat covered through the use of extensions, mashups, and CSS themes, however these modern technologies require new skill sets, beyond the traditional data analytic skills.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a customer (in the past), I was solving a variety of business problems - Sales analysis, Profitability, Inventory, AR and AP tracking, financial reporting, production planning, etc. As a consultant, I help my client solve problems in all areas of the business spectrum - manufacturing and distribution, healthcare, financial services, even microbiology analytics and reporting. The tool is truly versatile and allows me to analyze any data in any electronic format.

Excellent Business Intelligence Software for Daily Use
What do you like best about the product?
I really like that it's easy to use without any programming background for the users who "just" look at their data sets to check the actual status and breakout points, but it's also very useful on the C-level decision-making with handy infographics, charts and further dataviz opportunities. With e.g. an SQL programming backgrounds, combined with Python for instance, pretty cool data analytics stuffs can be created to ease the company stakeholders everyday life.
Besides. the updates are always communicated by Qlik managers and directors in regular webinars, and the updates are really based on the actual needs of the Qlik programmers and endusers.
