One single solution for different varieties of data - Multimodal Database
What do you like best about the product?
CrateDB's scalability and cost-effectiveness make it a strong option for companies requiring real-time data analytics solutions that can handle a wide variety of data formats.
What do you dislike about the product?
Looking forward to have some more features on the relational database features/capabilities as well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Real-time Data Ingestions and analytics
Great and knowledgeable employees presented great tool
What do you like best about the product?
I had workshop with CrateDB employees where we worked with CrateDB. It was easy to set it up and start playing with it - testing, running queries, talking with genAI agent, etc..
After workshop I feel I know more about CrateDB and their product. And I am glad I met these people and stayed in a touch with them.
It is easy to integrate it in your app, whether it is new one, or already in prod.
Frequency of use: I will firstly use it for internal projects to make sure I know it well and then I'll see how often I will work with it.

What do you dislike about the product?
I am still at the beginning of using CrateDB, so currently no problems appeared along the way.
What could be challenging, is the fact that they are 'new' and that they don't have enough docs/bugs/problem discussions online, so problem solving could take more than expected. On another hand, they have nice customer support and did advice us to rely on this as much as possible, to speed up our onboarding and working with CrateDB.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has really fast mechanism of getting data, which is important for my genAI apps that rely on RAG.
Participated in CrateDB workshop for using private data in generative AI
What do you like best about the product?
It is highly appreciated the integration of SQL
What do you dislike about the product?
It is complex working with time-series data
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Time-series data management and scalable data storage
interesting, but nothing new
What do you like best about the product?
I found it was easy to use and intuitive
What do you dislike about the product?
It wasn't working properly during the workshop
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mantain a vector database
Promising technology
What do you like best about the product?
Helpful team demonstrated the technology behind and practical application of CrateDB in a hands on workshop where it was integrated with LangChain to utilize its power combined with LLMs
What do you dislike about the product?
steep learning curve if you are not familiar with similar technolgy
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Streamlined data management by supporting various data models like time series, vector ect
High Performance Distributed Multimodal Database
What do you like best about the product?
CrateDB is High performance performance-distributed multimodal database. Data-driven applications in today's world require fast response times, real-time insights, and constant improvement, which can be very challenging when integrating multiple data sources and databases. CrateDB solves this problem by providing a unified representation for all types of data, enabling hyper-fast and scalable execution, and offering various deployment options.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far I haven't seen any downside. It's a multi-purpose database that can handle TSDB, Geospatial, vector for AI, etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are collecting data that are time-critical.
A powerful database with wide range of features
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use, support for vector storage, timeseries etc., a single solution for multiple problems
What do you dislike about the product?
Learning curve is a bit complex due to lack of practical examples even though the documentation is quite good. However they seem to be working on making tutorials available, so it's bound to get better
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were able to set up a custom monitoring solution to gather logs and analyse the behaviour of out ML models in real time using CrateDB's time series support
Efficient tool for Time series database
What do you like best about the product?
What makes CrateDB ineteresting is its scalability, distributed architecture, flexibility and hadndling both unstructured and structured data [with the focus on time-series].
What do you dislike about the product?
Needs more practical examples in tuturials. The execustion speed and UI can be improved
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creating queries easily. Protecting and handling large amount of data
A distributed SQL database that offers several advantages for storing large amounts of data
What do you like best about the product?
Scalability and Flexibility: CrateDB combines the best of both worlds by providing the benefits of an SQL database along with the scalability and flexibility typically associated with NoSQL databases. It can handle tens of thousands of records per second without breaking a sweat, making it suitable for large-scale data ingestion.
Horizontally Scalable and Fault-Tolerant: CrateDB clusters run well in virtualized and containerized environments. They remain horizontally scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant even under heavy load. This means you can easily expand your cluster as needed without compromising on performance or reliability.
Blazing-Fast Distributed Query Execution: CrateDB’s query execution engine parallelizes query workloads across the entire cluster, resulting in extremely fast query performance. Whetherwe run ad-hoc queries or complex aggregations, CrateDB handles them efficiently.

What do you dislike about the product?
I like User-Defined Functions (UDFs) when we can extend CrateDB’s functionality by creating custom user-defined functions (UDFs). I feel CrateDB can extend these even more one day.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Scaling
