Powerful, but pricey
What do you like best about the product?
Simple provisioning and management of dedicated masters for separate teams using CloudBees Jenkins Operations Center. CloudBees Role-Based Access plugin made managing permissions at a group and folder level extremely easy without having to deal with regular expressions wizardry.
What do you dislike about the product?
The cost per user and the licensing terms requiring a license for anybody that has access to our source code repository whether or not they ever login to CloudBees can make CloudBees Jenkins prohibitively expensive. During our ~3 years as a customer, CloudBees EOL'd the product we were using twice with no migration strategy other than building new and scp'ing job configurations from the old environment to the new environment. Licensing term changes (per executor to per use) also substantially increased our costs which was frustrating.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It made provisioning a segregated CloudBees environment for new teams very easy without having to try to manage each master individually.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be aware of the licensing terms and how that can balloon your costs.
Very good tool
What do you like best about the product?
It has covered all our deployment automation needs, and we haven't used all its capabilities yet!
What do you dislike about the product?
Maybe, not being able to have an easy count of the used agents that we have in our license.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Deployment automation in all our environments, including production, for our the layers in our architecture.
Task automation for the Operations teams.
Task automation for the Operations teams.
good and smooth customer support
What do you like best about the product?
This ticket system for cloudbee is the feature I likes best.
What do you dislike about the product?
sometimes the repsonse time is a little slow. When you ask customized questions, sometimes they unwilling to answer.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
cron time customization.
Great software and a really great experiance
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use along with the documentation on how to use is very understanding and had no problem launching it.
What do you dislike about the product?
Really there is nothing that is a dislike - maybe pricing as it was a little pricey for our taste since we only had a hand full of users using it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are making progress with just a little more than 3 months of using the software. I would say that within the next 3-6 months we will have a better idea.
Good support, could improve focus on popular plugins issues
What do you like best about the product?
I like the way support personnel reach out to the user and partner to simulate the issue before providing a resolution or recommendation.
What do you dislike about the product?
Issues with Plugins are not supported. Instead CloudBees product were pitched.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jenkins Auth and Core issues
Useful Service for gnarly Jenkins issues
What do you like best about the product?
When I find issues that are not easily solvable with a Google search, it's very helpful to have experts on call that can give me deeper insights into problems.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the responses aren't as in depth at i'd like.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We mostly solve integration problems with the many plugins that Jenkins supports. There are occasional server related issues as well regarding scaling and performance.
A nice way of doing feature flags
What do you like best about the product?
I like the interface and how easy it is to control the flags we add to our system. They have SDKs to make it easy to add it to your codebase.
What do you dislike about the product?
The cost was a bit high for our case, but in the end we could get a deal that was favorable for both sides. It is a bit confusing to be able to change things via configuration and UI.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using it to add feature flags to many of our features. By doing that, we are improving the quality of our deliveries, since we're able to test with groups of users before releasing. It's also nice to do A/B testing if needed.
Good plataform with supportive team
What do you like best about the product?
One of the best things of Rollout is the support team, they are always trying to help. We have a lot of different applications for the Flags and Configurations, and we can in real-time change the settings for our clients and for our developers.
What do you dislike about the product?
We had some issues with the Rox SDK, but everything went back to normal after updating it to the last version. There are some UX and UI problems with the plataform, its not a big deal, but it could be much better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Testing A/B, Slow-Releasing Features and Changing endpoints with configurations based on metadata.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking to improve the quality of your software through A/B Testing and Slow-releasing, this is the app to go with.
Rollout app feature flags
What do you like best about the product?
I like the configurations on the dashboard, and that i can function as a sort of CMS with ability to add complex conditions
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like that it is easy to forget selecting platform when you are not using the default configuration, can cause issues if a mistake is made, it would be good for the UI to be very explicit in this scenario
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Currently using rollout to solve feature flags in order to deploy unfinished features without blocking our release cadence
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Worth giving it a try and avoid implementing an inhouse CMS
