What do you like best about the product?
Scales easily, licensing approach lets us control costs, does not have a steep learning curve, easy set up, active user community, lots of documentation, pre-packaged connectors, training options
What do you dislike about the product?
Some documentation examples need to be expanded / more detailed
Need better debugging support
More detailed error messages
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Boomi to integrate a wide range of internal systems with external partners and their systems.
We are able to quickly develop proof-of-concept integrations. The learning curve has not been steep. We have both technical and non-technical Boomi users that are able to us the product efficently.

Mapping / User Documentation.

  • May 01, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Dell Boomi helps to mapping easily by taking care of Looping automatically as compared to other Tools I have worked where the Looping options have to be specified. User Guide is excellent it provides lot of details with an example.
What do you dislike about the product?
The documentation on AS2 connection is not working as expected. Especially following up with Test AS2 connection details. Working with Boomi Support Team to resolve the issue for few days and still no response. Custom Scripting option is not so user friendly and causes to follow standards which is sometimes tedious and time consuming.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I handle Dell Boomi Integration across various partner systems within out organization - CRM/COUPA/SAP/DB/ etc. The process designer is awesome and helps to quickly debug and solve problems.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Process designer is really good and Testing is very easy

Powerful and flexible product

  • October 21, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Good interface that allows non-programmers a way to synch and manipulate data while also allowing people with a programming background to do fairly extensive data manipulation.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is visual, but it is still a new language and thus there is a learning curve for how to put the elements together and to apply the parameters. Sometimes not very intuitive to me, but there is generally documentation or examples that can be found. Important to understand how to override with parameters to reduce your connector usage and license fees.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use the product to synch data from a legacy system into Salesforce. What was built can be maintained by the customer by people with light programming skills.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Once you learn how to use the product, you can do minor integrations to reasonably complex integrations very quickly and subsequent modifications to add new fields have been simple. For very large and extremely complex integrations, my preference would probably still be code, but I'm a programmer.

Powerful application with tons of promise

  • August 04, 2016

What do you like best about the product?
Boomi offers an easy to use GUI that allows anyone to quickly build simple or complex processes. It allows you to build complex processes with little to no coding knowledge. It’s a powerful integration application with a relatively small learning curve. The GUI makes it easy to follow the flow of the process. Boomi has a built in process that allows you to easily deploy between different environments. Built in API allows for quick and easy setup of web services. Community where users are able to submit and vote on improvement suggestions allows users to have a say in the features of the product.
What do you dislike about the product?
Boomi’s decision to charge based on connectors limits the reusability of processes. This can make it painful as you have to rebuild processes that are doing essentially the same thing but connecting to different servers. The web based portal is prone to slowness in a few areas making it painful to use when doing certain tasks (updating extensions for instance). Can require extensive customization to get the product working to it's full potential. The product still has a lot of room to grow and mature.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Setting up batch and realtime transfers for multiple business needs.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great tool and easy to use tool. Still needs work to make processes more reusable.

Easier builds but long load times

  • August 04, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I enjoy the object based modeling to create processes, as it makes it easy to trace the file as it goes through each phase of the process.
What do you dislike about the product?
The load times waiting for drop downs to populate, especially on the Environment Extensions page are unbearable. The built in error logging is very lacking and does not give a lot of the required information necessary to debug the issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Boomi has allowed us to reuse a lot of common processes and cut down on build times for a lot of new requests that we get in. The custom builds are still just as much work (if not more as we are learning on a new platform), but overall the amount of work needed for the average Dev/Test setup and deployment to Production has been decreased pretty dramatically.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
None at this time

Cloud system Integrations

Good Integration Tool for Enterprises

  • August 02, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
New Processes can be developed in no time.
Point and click functionality.
Good UI
What do you dislike about the product?
The functionality to export MAPs to excel.
The biggest pain being a process developer is to work on a single copy.Since its hard and pain to maintain a development copy also.
The 'help' should be provided with more examples.
There should be more shapes like flow control.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have integrated successfactors with SAP.
We have also integrated successfactors with salesfoce.
The biggest benefit is the faster execution time.We can pull data from clould in no time

Best Clound Integration tool in the Market

  • August 02, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Very easy to Integrate. Most of the integration functionality achieved by Graphical designing. Very minimal coding and no coding required to Integrate the Systems. Encrypting the data is very easy. Many connectors are available . Easy maintenance. Very good Version management. Unlike other Integration tools It doesn't require extensive programming knowledge. Very good support from Dell Boomi Community. The central control from the web console of all the managed processes is a giant leap in terms of DevOps respect to more traditional products.Best part here I can put forward is that this product moved out of box now! by adding a "custom connector" concept where in a developer can try to connect to different systems by coding himself apart from inbuilt provided connectors. Manual configuration of runtime engine is really awesome, for this one reason I could say BOOMI is an best product among iPaaS providers.
What do you dislike about the product?
No standard option to track who scheduled the process. Auditing options need to be improved.
Takes more time when processing huge data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have used Dell Boomi tool to integrate Succesfactors system with other systems like ADP, Aon Hewitt, computershare,CADIS and other client Internal system. Dell Boomi simplifies the data transformations. Encrypting the data as per customer security needs. Very good real time and on need basis integrations. flexibility to integrate clod and on premise systems
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely I will recommend Dell Boomi for Cloud Integrations. It is very easy to use. Less time for Integrations. License cost is cheaper.

Boomi is powerful and highly usable, but not perfect

  • August 01, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Dell Boomi's interface is mostly intuitive and it makes basic ETL integrations easy to build and deploy. As I've used it more and more over the past few years, for more complex use cases, I've learned that it sometimes has unsurprising (and not so obvious) depth, though this depth is often not as well documented as it could be.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a few things that Boomi struggles with:
- Mapping values between two dynamic JSON arrays is a true challenge. If you need to map array elements from Array 1 into Y array elements in Array 2...well, have fun setting that up. Easy to do in code, but quite unintuitive and nearly impossible to do in Boomi. I was able to get a demonstration from a Boomi customer service rep and the solution provided was not scalable.

- Basic UX details can be rough at times (and the interface itself takes up too much screen space)

- Stuck on an ancient version of Groovy for embedded code

- No built-in code IDE even though you'll need to embed more and more code as you increase the complexity and sophistication of your integrations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're solving a variety of business problems, but primarily automating manual processes that involve typical ETL operations. We've managed to save many hours of manual work and the accompanying potential for human error by using Dell Boomi.
