What do you like best about the product?
Timely updates for protecting networks from latest threats. Robust security, easy management, future rich user interface. Reporting format and built-in reporting future with out additional cost is considerable.
What do you dislike about the product?
Need to provide country wise support team. Need to improve application filtering from blocking sites not belongs to the application types.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In the view of higher education institution, the individual user authentication, group wise policy implementation, group wise website access permission, MAC binding feature for prevent un authorized access.

Sophos Firewall offers an intuitive web interface, making monitoring and policy management straightforward for our IT team. The integration with Sophos endpoint protection provides an additional layer of protection and enhanced threat response capabilities. After several months of deployment, the solution has proven to be reliable, user-friendly, and well-suited to our needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sophos integrates best with other Sophos products, especially with their XDR solution. You may want to test in depth integration with other solution it is a key requirement for you. Advanced features require additional licences in some cases.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sophos Firewall provides good web filtering, application control, and policy-based traffic shaping to manage and restrict access based on roles. Additionally, it integrates with Sophos Central and Sophos Endpoint, enabling synchronized security—automated response to threats detected on any endpoint.

it can be resource-intensive and sometimes challenging to configure for users without advanced networking knowledge.

Solution: Built-in Intrusion Prevention System (IPS), Advanced Threat Protection (ATP), sandboxing (Sandstorm), and deep packet inspection (DPI).
Benefit: Proactively blocks malicious traffic and zero-day threats before they reach endpoints — reducing risk of breaches.

Load balancing across ISPs, along with web and application filtering, allows effective user control. SD-WAN helps define and route specific ISPs for different user group

The best part about Sophos Firewall is its comprehensive security features, user-friendly UI, making it easy to manage and monitor network traffic effectively.

Sophos Firewall effectively solves network security challenges by protecting us against cyber threats and unauthorized access. This ensures us a safe and secure business operations, reduces the risk, and provides peace of mind through real-time monitoring.
SOPHOS It's Simply Better.
What do you like best about the product?
As a network administrator, I’ve found the Sophos Firewall XGS2100 to be a reliable, easy to implement and efficient solution for securing our network. It provides strong threat protection with features like deep packet inspection and intrusion prevention, while still maintaining solid performance. The interface is straightforward, which makes policy management, VPN setup, and traffic shaping easy to handle. It also integrates well with our existing infrastructure and gives us clear visibility into network activity. Overall, it helps reduce downtime and keeps our environment secure without adding complexity. The customer support is very effective and super fast in my experience.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly, there is no MAC ID based authentication method. If it's available, the authentication of permanent staff of any institution/firm is made very simple. And it's easy to monitor their activities.
Currently there is only one option available based on MAC ID. That is MAC based filtering by using specific rules. But its look like bypassing a bunch of clients. In this method there is no option to monitor their activities.

It's tough to figure out which website categories I actually want to allow or block especially when certain sites with CAPTCHAs get blocked or don't work properly.
