Probably the most useful software for team collaboration
What do you like best about the product?
Everything is pretty straightforward, easy to use, and intuitive. It also has a generous free tier and integrations with other services are very easy to integrate.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be unstable. We've seen some outages that lasted for a few hours. Also, the status page is usually late to reflect them, signaling that Gitlab may not be aware that something's broken until users scream on Twitter.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Team collaboration and continuous integration/delivery

We are using gitlab for source code management, release management, CI and CD.
Opersource Continuous Integration
What do you like best about the product?
A very successful platform for code storage and code persistence.
What do you dislike about the product?
code comparison can be a lot of trouble sometimes. Problem solving in conflicts is really tiring.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it for versioning and code processes.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You can use your open-source preference in this direction for versioning and code tracking.
We are iterating faster and efficiently with Gitlab.
What do you like best about the product?
I find Gitlabs integration with third party software providers very helpful. Its version control feature is another aspect I love, and the user community is very active too, which allows me easily find solutions to any problems I have ever encountered with Gitlab.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are areas of Gitlab , which can be more intuitive. Specifically, its analytics and board search can be less complex .
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Gitlab provides my team with an open source , code collaboration platform where all parties involved in a software project can collaborate in real time.
Efficient project repository management , merging and faster tracking of bugs in our codes are major benefits we have realized from adopting Gitlab.

Great tool to organize tasks for a team
What do you like best about the product?
It has a great dashboard to organize all the pending tasks, being able to tag, prioritize and assign them
What do you dislike about the product?
A bit too complicated if you are not familiar with agile technique products
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Each team member opens a ticket or to-do task whenever they realize something in our product needs to be fixed, improved or created. It allows us to manage the work to be done
Easy to manage repository
What do you like best about the product?
GitLab is Free, and managing the repository was very easy. It helped me create a global repository uri and was also very helpful for code reviews and approvals. It provides easy integration with other applications like confluence to monitor the commits. Merge and tracking was very smooth with the pipelines. Integration with JIRA Software provided me with issue tracking easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
When a system password is changed or reset, it does not automatically update the windows credentials based on the latest password.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am managing the repository and tracking the issues—code review and approval.
A collaborative space with better controls
What do you like best about the product?
The version control is the same as git, but Git lab provides you with more control over your project. It lets you decide who can take which role. The interface is seamless.
What do you dislike about the product?
The issue with GitLab is also that at the workplace, the roles are too definitive and won't let you make changes if you don't have a proper role assigned, and that can lead to overhead.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use it to upload automation scripts that the team could use and version control it. It is better than git due to its privacy control on an enterprise level.
Good platform for your centrel repo
What do you like best about the product?
Best this is its server like i never stuck in pushing code or deploy to my personal server. I user GIT for this
What do you dislike about the product?
The only bed thing is auth like other platform is using token or auth2 for login but it has same as previous
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I solved only server down issue with this
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you want you developer don't wast time is server down issue then you can use this
Best project and code management for companies big and small
What do you like best about the product?
Gitlab is free and open source for unlimited users and repositories. They have free minutes available for CI/CD. Their features integrate well too. Milestones, issues, PRs, Code branches everything integrates so well that it is breezy to use. They have everything under one hood.
What do you dislike about the product?
So many of the cool features that gitlab had for free in the past have been made restrictive or limitted. Also, hierarchy of projects, subgroups, groups can be bad for something like labels, or issues management.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's free and open source. It is a one stop platform for all the things related to software development. I was previously using bitbucket at my org but it's costs are prohibitive for early stage service based startups. Gitlab is free, and has all the needed things and at times even more.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
When you start using gitlab, make sure the group, subgroups and project hierarchy is well managed. And you maintain milestones and labels and other things at highest possible level.
