Recommendations to others considering the product:
Before using GitLab, one must understand the basics of git & its philosophy. Please also understand and implement all the best practices mentioned by GitLab. Also, always give importance to roles & access configuration.
An extraordinary Version software

User interface is neat and easy to use, but most importantly the facility to store and use Terraform state files is the one which for me is the best of Gitlab

Gitlab review for DevOps

The best feature I like with Gitlab is the CI/CD integration. The automated testing support with CI is fantastic, and it covers almost all the major languages. The CD supports all possible deployment combination.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not as widely used as Github in the open-source communities, so it makes it a bit tough to recommend or choose against Github.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collaboration during development among the distributed team, CI/CD integration, and automated testing for all the languages.

What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it isn't obvious.
It gets tricky to undo some commands once they are committed.
The review process is also a bit complicated.
There are not many dislikes as the tool itself is a perfect one with all needed for version control and source code management.

A great version control and project management software
What do you like best about the product?
I like that Gitlab allows users to make not only use of the power of Git but also layer project management on top. Creating issues related to specific merge requests glues the two together perfectly.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the settings pages could be more intuitive. The number of times I have had to look for settings related to deploy tokens is almost uncountable. It seems to move around a lot.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Organizing a web project can be challenging. Gitlab allows users to not only manage their projects but also work directly on the command line, using standard Git tools.
Best Open Source Platform for Source Code Management
What do you like best about the product?
GitHub is known to almost everyone, but Gitlab is known only to a few. Gitlab is the platform where you can fully manage the source code of the project
which allows you to coordinate, share and collaborate across the entire software development team.
As I am working with the team, so I solve many work issues like
- Track and merge branches of the other developer's code
- Audit changes done by the teammates in source code enable parallel work to accelerate software delivery.

What do you dislike about the product?
As GitLab is much complex obviously than Github but it needs the proper understanding of the platform is a little bit time consuming as its much different from the other VCS(s)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I had to collaborate the code with the teammates with the predefined set of processes & standards. At that time, I came to know about Gitlab, so the GitLab is providing Built-in Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD), which helps me a lot to streamline testing and delivery of the project.
