Great product and very intuitive
What do you like best about the product?
The tool is very Intuitive and elaborate all the features I've been looking to see in a single tool
What do you dislike about the product?
There should be some form of contextual help on the portal for the users which could help guide the process if someone doesn't want to go through the training material again and again

Resolving tech debt and identifying cloud migration candidate in the existing system

Very good application portafolio analysis tool! / specially at scale for hundreds/thousands of apps.
What do you like best about the product?
I specially liked the ability to upload code samples and see the dependencies and blockers to cloud usage/conversion. The built in reports are very helpful too.
What do you dislike about the product?
You have to practice a bit with the user interface, but once you get used to it you will like it.

CAST provides a great way of grouping and visualizing applications in your company for migration and modernization/upgrade analysis. It also pinpoints in good detail the legacy blockers or dependencies

the visualization of dependencies between applications was not possible and is very important for the elaboration of the migration roadmap.

A tool that works well in assessing Applications for Cloud Migration
What do you like best about the product?
Cast Highlight tool provides insights about multiple areas of the application like security, storage, network firewall issues along with their corresponding lines of code.
What do you dislike about the product?
1. CAST Highlight portal not at all works for me as a desktop application. I have to always log in via its site.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
CAST Highlight saves us a lot of time and clearly provides its assessment on the application with metrics like cloud-readiness, software elegance etc. The recommendations actually worked for most of our applications.
Cloud Readiness , Software Resilience and Business Impact Assessment of your on-Premise applications
What do you like best about the product?
The portfolio analysis showing the cloud-ready score versus cloud effort is quite insightful. Also, the business impact versus effort is helpful for CIOs/Tech executives thinking of adopting long versus short-term approach to cloud migration to gain maximum effect.
What do you dislike about the product?
There could be survey questionnaires for assessing COTS applications whose source code is not available for scanning. Typical such workloads could be SAP HANA, Oracle ERP systems, MS Sharepoint, etc. In the current state, COTS applications assessment is not possible which is a miss in my view.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helping me to assess on-premise bespoke applications and identify the correct migration path to AWS cloud. The tool is able to figure out cloud blockers and various technical debt that is required to be resolved for it to move to cloud.
Tool to help solve voids on the Tetris game of Code Refactor
What do you like best about the product?
CAST Highlight is very straight forward to start use, easy to learn and implement. Is a potent tool to support Code Refactor and can be used once to start an App Modernization project or recurrently to help adjust the code maturity through the time.
What do you dislike about the product?
CAST Highlight is not that simple to configure on CI/CD Pipelines - a Docker image is needed when talking about applications that is already on cloud. And the documentation is a little bit difficult to follow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I used CAST to support App Modernization initiatives helping prioritize the work that should be done and define the amount of effort to perform such activity. At the end, we reach a yearly improvement around 20% on the developers productivity.
Useful but not so immediate
What do you like best about the product?
Tool rich in dashboards and charts based on the different KPIs produced. Various possibilities for customizing the product require a study of the supporting documentation that very extensive but exhaustive.
What do you dislike about the product?
Conducting source code upload activities are not so straightforward, analyzing file extensions to recognize uploaded technologies requires significant setup effort.

It makes us able to provide 100 application analyses and discover open-source libraries' vulnerabilities.
CAST Highlight: Excellent Value add to Enterprises for performing Application Portfolio Analysis
What do you like best about the product?
I like the way the coding vulnerabilities are identified by the tool. The tool also helps assess data privacy compliance. These are critical steps when enterprise applications are planned for a rearchitect. Overall a lightweight tool to better understand the blockers and cloud readiness for the portfolio of applications.
What do you dislike about the product?
The time taken for code scans of larger applications is slightly more.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Enterprises would benefit from the detailed insight the tool gives in checking the cloud readiness of an application. The code scan helps to identify OS Vulnerabilities.
