Some of the self-service capabilities are quite powerful, but the UI doesn’t enhance the user experience
What is our primary use case?
What is most valuable?
Some of the self-service capabilities are quite powerful.
What needs improvement?
The UI doesn’t enhance the user experience. I do not know if the issue is with the product or how it was implemented.
For how long have I used the solution?
We have had the solution in our organization for a couple of years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
It's always available when I'm using it. It has 100% availability. All the employees in my organization have been onboarded onto the tool. The tool has self-service capabilities. We use the tool multiple times a day.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
We haven't encountered issues where we have had to scale to solve problems. I’m sure the SoD check will be very intensive. It will be extremely difficult and a challenge to scalability.
How are customer service and support?
The support team is always available when needed.
How was the initial setup?
I rate the ease of setup a six out of ten. It depends on our technical maturity. If someone hasn’t been exposed to technically challenging solutions and scenarios, Saviynt will be difficult. The product is deployed on the cloud.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
We have used Microsoft’s products.
What other advice do I have?
It's a major integration scenario between SAP and the non-SAP identity management engine. The solution has a functionality called SoD check. The ease of integration of the solution with the existing IT infrastructure of an organization depends on the implementer’s familiarity and comfort with the process.
My organization has a turnover of 25 billion. We have a complex and feature-rich IT landscape. Some of the ideas behind the product’s capabilities are attractive, but some of the implementation parts are not transparent. I do not recommend it to anyone. Overall, I rate the product a six out of ten.
Offers authentication, governance audits, and access campaigns within our enterprise application but lacks good documentation
What is our primary use case?
It is for Identity Governance and Administration (IGA). We primarily use it for authentication, governance audits, and access campaigns within our enterprise application.
How has it helped my organization?
Saviynt risk-based access requests and intelligent access controls have made a significant impact on our company.
The intelligence aspect is still in its early stages and needs improvement. But for the risk-based access request, I would rate it an eight out of ten.
It's easy to use, but complex integrations require additional support. Standard applications integrate smoothly, but custom ones require time-consuming workarounds.
What is most valuable?
It's currently working well, but we're exploring other options due to user-friendliness concerns.
We want a simplified tool that's more user-friendly for everyday tasks.
What needs improvement?
UI and support could be improved. The frequent updates and version changes can be disruptive for large organizations. Not every month, a large organization can go with the changes. Saviynt needs to consider this carefully.
Additionally, documentation needs improvement, and a dedicated technical support team would be beneficial for resolving issues with the vendor.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using it for nine years. It's been quite a long time.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I would rate the stability a six out of ten. Stability isn't perfect across versions, but the integration with IBM Versa's emerging features is good. However, we prefer Saviynt to proactively identify internal data issues before customers encounter them.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
I would rate the scalability around six out of ten.
We have over 30k to 40k users using this solution.
How are customer service and support?
The customer service and support are weak. It could be faster and knowledgeable.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We're exploring Microsoft Entra ID while still using Saviynt. Overall, Saviynt is decent, but the UI and support aren't meeting our expectations. That's why we're exploring other tools.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup is easy. We use a SaaS-based model.
What about the implementation team?
The entire system, being cloud-based, is maintained by Saviynt itself. Only the portal is directly accessible to customers.
The deployment was straightforward and fairly quick, taking about half the expected time.
Four to five people are required for the maintenance.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
What other advice do I have?
Overall, I would rate the solution a seven out of ten.
If cost is a concern and you have a small user base without a dedicated IT team, proceed with Saviynt. Because it manages everything, only the console is accessible to the customer.
Provides flexibility of use, but its scalability features need improvement
What is most valuable?
The product is flexible to use. We can write connectors, and it is more inexpensive than SailPoint.
What needs improvement?
The product is complicated to scale compared to SailPoint. It runs on a native cloud platform and is not multi-tenant. This particular area needs improvement.
For how long have I used the solution?
We have been using Saviynt for five years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The product's stability is not easy to maintain.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Saviynt doesn't scale beyond 5,000 user accounts.
How are customer service and support?
The technical support services are satisfactory.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Neutral
How was the initial setup?
Saviynt has a complex design. I rate the initial setup process a seven out of ten.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Saviynt has a competitive price.
What other advice do I have?
I rate Saviynt a six out of ten.
Has an easy setup process, but it needs more customization options
What is most valuable?
The product's certification includes valuable features like consulting and verification. The workflows are straightforward to use and configure in the access requests feature. Additionally, the repository has many features where you can define primary and secondary owners. You can customize it the way you want.
What needs improvement?
It is time-consuming to troubleshoot issues. Fetching data and transforming it to another system could be easier. There could be more customization options as customers have different environments and requirements. We need to go through other channels every time. It would save us a lot of time if more options were included. Apart from that, the documentation needs improvement as well.
For how long have I used the solution?
We have been using Saviynt for two years. We are using the 23.4 version.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
It is a stable product.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
We have 7000 to 8000 users for Saviynt.
How are customer service and support?
The technical support services are average. Their team asks us to refer to the forum whenever we raise tickets. Instead, they should provide the solution or divert customers to a specific forum, as customers cannot fetch essential information from a database or repository.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Neutral
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I have used Oracle and SailPoint.
How was the initial setup?
The initial is very straightforward. It takes a day to complete. The deployment process involves requesting Saviynt to fetch a tenant and download the component we need to install for the on-premise version. We can also deploy it on the cloud and integrate it as per requirements. We can use it once the connectivity is done and firewall ports are open.
We require one manager, one senior consultant or senior architect, and two to three developers to execute the process. However, the number of technical staff members depends on the use cases and time frame.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The product is less expensive than SailPoint.
What other advice do I have?
I rate Saviynt a seven out of ten. It is not fully customizable. I advise others to work as a customer consultant apart from being an integrator.
