What do you like best about the product?
I love the fact that 3CX is a webclient based phone system. Everything revolves around it, from the control of your phone (CSTA) to having chat, voicemail, web conferencing and also the ability to control the call flow of your extension without admin intervention.
What do you dislike about the product?
Admin features seem to fall a bit short. This is the only PBX that I can confidently say that it focuses mainly on the user and not the admin. But this is not a bad thing! In fact, it's a great quality to have considering it's robust design!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With the COVID 19 pandemic, 3CX has made it easier than ever for us to deploy hosted systems for clients that need to work remotely. It has also allowed us, as a telecommunications provider to work remotely from our home as well and support our clients to the same degree that we did when we were in the office.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Go for it! You won't regret the ease of use!

Use it at office and on mobile, works great!

What do you like best about the product?
Portability, works on mobile, allows me to bring my office calls with me on the go
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes when switching networks while on a call, it will drop.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
No longer need to keep a manual phone list, have full directory on phone and PC. Also have ability to set up conference calls with dial in numbers, we did not have this functionality previously.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Test it on all mobile platforms, there are slight differences that need to be trained.

Highly Recommended

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of management. Overall views of system status, extensions and users is extremely easy to map
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of LDAP integration to tie extensions to users. Office hours feature needs to be present in Digital Receptionist settings rather than just trunk. A 'related items' field would be nice. We'd also like to remove the 3CX logo in more places since we're a re-seller. We're not hiding the fact it's 3CX, but we would like a little more brand customization
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Almost everything when it comes to phone systems has been easier with installation of this system. We're an MSP and have deployed this in multiple places transitioning from older non IP phone systems and even from Cisco Call Manager. The cost savings are insane compared to almost any other solution. Support is quick to respond and overall this has been a great solution. The onboard diagnostics have also effectively replaced the need for wireshark.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just because this is tapped as a 'small' application, doesn't mean that it's not capable. If you're looking for dialplan matching like you get in Cisco, you're out of luck, things have to be expressly designed, but almost all features we've encountered with any other product are matched in some way or another by 3CX, and there are great 3rd party integrations if you need a particular featureset

Nothing. It's straight forward and get up and running in 10 minutes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cost savings compared to old system.

3CX is a all-around, complete phone system!

What do you like best about the product?
3CX is just plain easy to use. So simple!
What do you dislike about the product?
Some bugs, but those are fixed very fast
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Remote work! We had to all work from home due to the pandemic, and 3CX was already scaled to help with this. I simply had to send out the “Welcome to 3CX” email and staff could download the app to their phones and sign in to the Web Client on their Chromebooks and were ready to go. Simple as that! I was also able to bring my desk phone home and use it just like I am in my office, which is fantastic.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Go for it! We have no regrets going with 3CX. IT JUST WORKS!

Excellent Unified Communications

What do you like best about the product?
This system is flexible. You are not held back by annoying licencing. It just works. It so flexible, we replaced a restrictive and totally closed Mitel system with 3cx over a year ago. It enabled us to mobilise 70% our staff during the corona crisis
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like single sign on to the web console using SAML but apart from that nothing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have deployed in to 3 branch office across the world. Increased incoming line capacity with SIP removing our ISDN. Solved DR. Mobilised the workforce.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try it - You will not be sorry.

Best IP Based Phone System We've Used

  • April 09, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ease of configuration, management and end user training makes 3CX the best system we've deployed to the smallest and largest of our clients. Support and message boards make troubleshooting, deploying, tweaking and administering 3CX easy and pain free!
What do you dislike about the product?
None! You won't be disappointed with 3X!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've solved problems from customers not getting any calls with their previous system and now not able to handle the volume of calls (which is a good thing!) to uniting property management companies in telephony on one 3CX platform from dozens of remote sites that used single analog lines.

Cost savings benefits are huge from the smallest client to the largest utilizing SIP services and consolidating multiple offices into one!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do it, you won't be disappointed. Follow the recommendations for using supported hardware and SIP vendors and the ease of installation, management and training will make you wish you did it 10 years ago!

Cost-efficient Phone Solution

  • April 09, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The cost savings were huge. We have many numbers with very little external usage, other than our sales staff. As such, excluding overhead on our IT department, we went from ~$35/month/line to $7/month/line pricing for hundreds of users.
What do you dislike about the product?
Missing some features that I would like, such as single sign-on, or a RESTful API access. With those features 3CX would be everything we have been looking for. Also, I wish more company branding was an option as well, even for an extra price.

Also, we had an instance where we didn't update our instance for a few months and it resulted in losing our 3cx.us domain. It caused a lot of initial hardship, but at that point we had ~20 extensions ported over and not our entire company.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cost and management. While cost was a reason for switching, management was another one as well. Being that we have control over easily creating new extensions, as well as troubleshooting, it makes it easier when problems or last-minute changes arise.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Fully experiment with it and your needs first. We use it on Polycom phones, Yealink phones, desktop soft phone, and app soft phone -- not all work to the same levels of the others.

Great, but every now in then I'll run into minor problems

  • April 09, 2020

What do you like best about the product?
The simple interface and how accessible it is across devices (computers, smartphones and so on).
What do you dislike about the product?
The app is buggy on iOS devices and calls sometimes cut out.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Calls sometimes drop when using the iOs app, but the platform is easy to use and very accessible.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great way to stay connected across different devices and easy to use!
