What do you like best about the product?
3CX has helped my company during the difficult times of working from home during the COVID-19 pandemic. When our office originally began working from home mid-March 2020 we were sent home using our personal phones to make calls with the promise that we would soon be getting an internet-based phone system. Once we launched 3CX office-wide it helped tremendously. I no longer have to give out my personal phone number to customers and clients to speak with them. We now have the opportunity to use our office phone number and extension directly on our phone or computer. It is very easy!
What do you dislike about the product?
Getting used to the platform at first was a little difficult. I had never used an internet-based phone service provider before so some of the functions were a bit different to get used to. The support team was very helpful, as was our office manager, and now that I know the functions of the platform I can easily use it and stay in touch while working from both in the office or remotely. The only other thing I dislike is you must answer a call very quickly or it will be sent to voicemail.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When we started working remotely I was having to share my personal phone number with coworkers, clients, and customers. It seems like no big deal, until you start receiving calls at 8 p.m. or 6:30 a.m. regarding business. I was thankful for the switch because I am now able to use my regular office number and give that to people instead of personal information. I am also able to set-up "in-office hours" or "out-of-office hours" directly send calls to voicemail out of my set working time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
3CX is helpful for any business that needs a phone line! During the time of COVID-19 and working remotely, this service is very crucial to running a smooth operation. Clients and customers can now contact me without using my personal cellphone and I no longer feel guilty if I send them to voicemail.
Finally found the communication system our company was searching for!
What do you like best about the product?
The biggest upside of 3CX is its ease of use. If you are a bit tech savvy, you will be able to handle 3CX in no time. At the same time we hardly found tasks we could not solve with 3CX, so it is flexible and feature-rich as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
Mainly it is the missing API. I don't need database access, but an API to control things would be great.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have about 200 users (IP phones and DECT) + an alarm server and we were easily able to switch from our old Alcatel system to 3CX. The cost benefit alone is huge, but even more we value the ease of use compared to the horror that is Alcatel.
Nice improvement over our previous PBX

What do you dislike about the product?
* Documentation is incomplete and decentralized - some input fields are not mentioned at all in the online documentation
* AD import settings could be much more complex, i.e. a real LDAP filter option would help
* The optics of the management site should be more flexible, e.g. the maximum number of rows shown while importing extensions from AD should be configurable

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
* Our ISDN trunk is scheduled to be deactivated - 3CX is our transition to a SIP trunk
* Our current PBX doesn't support mobile work - 3CX does, which is very important in times of Covid-19
* Currently, we have a mixture of ISDN and IP phones at our workplaces - 3CX will unify this with a defined set of Yealink IP phones and the softphone apps
