What do you like best about the product?
It’s a tool that offers seamless traceability and a view that bridge both the APM and the Business product usage effectively.. Different people can interpret this definition differently so this article attempts to qualify what APM is, what it includes, and why it is important to your business. If you are going to take control of the performance of your applications, then it is important that you understand what you want to measure and how you want to interpret it in the context of your business.
What do you dislike about the product?
The problem is that none of the server monitoring tools are capable of knowing how your applications are performing. Some of them can probe your application to see if it is available or not but none can tell you why your application has ceased to function.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were using this for monitoring application health and also for thread counts
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Its good to use and easy to adopt to your projects. I had lot many features. Application behavior and features such as monitoring asynchronous threads and End User Monitoring increase the number of metrics per minute flowing to the Controller and can affect the requirements. so try to keep this simple as possible so that it can improve your performance and reliability

Great Insights, Great Troubleshooting

What do you like best about the product?
Being able to have insight into problems on a website, in real time, is extremely useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's so expansive in functionality that it's very easy to get lost. Sometimes I run a graph or chart that really helps me out, then I can't find it again. It's not always intuitive where to find things.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
AppDynamics helps us to find problems quickly so that we can minimize the impact it has on our customers.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Get a free demo and then use it to troubleshoot an actual problem you're having. You'll be hooked. It is quite expensive, though, so you'll need buy-in from the decision (budget) makers.

Great monitoring tool!

What do you like best about the product?
Ability to quickly navigate from dashboard to dashboard. The graphs are easy to read, even from a distance. We display them on wall monitors for the whole team to be able to see.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't much about AppD I dislike since I'm purely a consumer of the data. I have not been involved in setting the product or dashboards up.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping our systems online is critical to our customers and their business. AppD helps us recognize issues early on so we can get the right people involved before it becomes a critical outage.

What do you like best about the product?
Best thing about this tool is that u don't need multiple tools for your needs. There are nearly all solutions available under single roof named AppDynamics. Good thing is its online website interface you can see things on the go. Usually you deploy something locally in-house and you going abroad you don't have a clear picture. No such problem exists in it.
What do you dislike about the product?
For me not as such but its UI needs a lot improvements. You will not feel any issue if you got training for your people. But one day when a newbie will learning will be complaining about its Interface flow. I know things will be much better with time. Same improvement is required in Dashboard. Customization if fine. But there is a lot margin of improvement.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Monitoring of customer experience for application built by us.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It depends on your needs. Please invest some time in research of other tools also. And after that i bet you will not find a single tool capable like AppDynamics.
