Single Pane of Glass for a Multi-Cloud Experience
What do you like best about the product?
The Self-Service User Interface is straight-forward in terms of a marketplace presence. The Cloud Management portal provides a convenient intermediate-level for platform-level and IT configuration and monitoring.
What do you dislike about the product?
Depending on the use case, UI extension layout and information must be done via the API. While there is documentation available on the use of the API, examples for the calls are not provided. Some of the API call limitations are not documented.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Primarily in areas of backup/restore/replication of various artifacts. There is no way to replicate artifacts between accounts and clouds, only within a cloud and within an account. VMware is not supported very well for larger on premise install bases. The API in these areas is extremely limited.
On the benefits side, we have successfully extended our use cases to multi-platform use with said single-pane of glass.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Initial support in the area of set up and configured is provided extremely well by the support staff. Once initial knowledge and experience is gained support, while sympathetic, has little to no way of providing status for issues submitted to product development/engineering. This is also true for suggested corrections/enhancements to the product support when API documentation states one thing, but results in something other than the expected results.
Right scale have helped us to monitor, deployed and troubleshoot deployments
What do you like best about the product?
Cloud management gives you details node by node and that help us a lot to troubleshoot

Also, debugging of CATs is not easy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The beneficial aspect of CMP is the ability of self provision instances, whether that be VMs or applications.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Easy tool to help migrate to cloud in a clean manner
feedback about flexera
What do you like best about the product?
Used its good UI as a cloud management platform to interact with any AWS or Google Cloud.
What do you dislike about the product?
Less Documentation available so difficult to explore given APIs. There should be some forums where developers and share their challenges and best practices.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using this we are able to migrate our datacenter to cloud easily.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
There are various CMP available but the options and functionality given by flexera is much convenient to use.
Best fit for our organisation
What do you like best about the product?
We could get the things we needed. CMP is 1-2 years ahead of other partners we reviewed in the functionality we required.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a lot of functionality, so it can be hard to find what I need.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cost overview for each project with an individual overview.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Review what is available in the market. You might be looking for something different. The platforms provided offer many different services, not all are the same. CMP was the best fit fo my organisation.
Experience with Flexara CMP
What do you like best about the product?
All information on available on single dashboard and simple UI
What do you dislike about the product?
RCL which is proprietary to rightscale is not easy to learn. In recent past rightscale's support has degraded.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Micro service movement to cloud
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Good tool for migration to Cloud. Flexara has lost focus in 2019, they were doing great earlier
Multiple Clouds in one place
What do you like best about the product?
We first started using the RightScale platform at a time when AWS only had an API and didn't have an administrative console. From the beginning RightScale made it possible to minimize the number of server images we needed by making it easy to create server templates that would take a common base image and configure it after boot. It also makes it easy to remote command things to run on multiple servers at once.
What do you dislike about the product?
Now that every cloud platform has a robust console up, the original benefit of having a web based console for managing servers instead of relying purely on an API has dwindled considerably. Most things I would have previously relied on CMP for can now be done with a few clicks in the individual cloud. As such the Cost to Value ratio on CMP has changed considerably since we joined. What was once a must-have feature is now a commodity.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We still use CMP to manage our instances on AWS. We use the array functionality to make easy arrays of servers behind ELBs and NLBs, and still use server templates and rightscripts to manage our instances easily. Being able to use a relative few number of server templates and have near infinite flexibility in what the servers do on launch is a great plus that is hard to manage with APIs or the individual platform's management consoles alone.
we are able to manage our customer Data centers using Felexera/Rightscale CMP
What do you like best about the product?
The solution is available on Cloud, we do not have to mange the environment and upgrade software
What do you dislike about the product?
Plug-in architecture is not scalable, without professional service support we can not build on our own, latest container and kubernetes integrations are not available
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
we are able to manage our customer Data centers using CMP End to End automation, which includes pre-provision, provision and post provision activities
Recommendations to others considering the product:
if you are looking for cloud based CMP , Flexera/Rightscale is the best

CAT Self-service portal
Cost management platform
What do you dislike about the product?
The learning curve, available documentation, slow support response etc.
UI
UI
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A single platform that combines multi-cloud management, different toolsets for DevOps without the need to manage siloed toolsets and processes.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
CMP market is probably in its early stage and it is difficult to find a correct platform that satisfies all the CMP requirements. I would rather choose the platform that is open and allows integration easily with other tools while it is trying to add more features.
