A Frank Look from the ITAM Techno-functional Engineer

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
For an administrator, the most powerful aspect of Flexera One isn't the flashy dashboards you show to leadership. It's the "normalized data" engine. Getting the messy data from SCCM,Intune,M365, other service providers and vCenters into a single format is something that makes my job easy. While it takes a lot of the manual, spreadsheet-based data to be manipulated, this data with FlexeraOne lets us actually focus on the "asset management" part of ITAM in a better way.

My unique experience has been with the initial setup, can feel like a roller-coaster. However, once the data connectors are connected and the inventory rules are in place, the day-to-day data gets better after each reconcile. The ability to automate license reconciliation for vendors like Microsoft and Oracle is a huge win for operations folks and licensing managers can save a lot of hours otherwise doing manual calculations and applying license rules.
What do you dislike about the product?
The user interface might feel a little clumsy for new users, though it gets better on subsequent visits. The timeout set on tenants might be pain as well, logging in 100 times during intervals.
Error messages can be misleading, especially during a large import. "Data import failed" is one thing, but figuring out the exact row or field that caused the issue can be tricky.
I wish the system provided more noticeable error messages, otherwise it can add to the working timeline.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Bridging the Gap: We were a classic example of un-connected operations. My ITAM team had its spreadsheets, and our Licensing team had theirs. Flexera One provides that single source of truth that allows us to have meaningful, data-backed conversations about cloud and software spend and license renewals.

With the Flexera SaaS, we've finally been able to get a handle on all the SaaS applications under one roof. The discovery gives us visibility of unknown spend happening around, and we've been able to reclaim unused licenses, directly impacting entire budget landscape.

Also, an audit readiness can be time taking and difficult in small timelines which could major headache for customers and partner. Now with Flexera ITAM we have baseline ready which saves more than half of audit timelines. The data is there, it's normalized, and we can generate a defensible effective license position in a matter of hours if not for weeks. It has definitely reduced our anxiety and risk.

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciate the deep yet simple integration with Salesforce. The level of detail for both user-based and consumption-based licenses is impressive. We haven’t tried Salesforce Marketing Cloud yet, but the integration with Salesforce itself works great.
What do you dislike about the product?
We occasionally experience some strange glitches. For example, we weren’t able to enter the decimal part of the license price and had to open a case to have it fixed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It’s a key product in our initiative to improve efficiency and achieve cost savings across company-wide SaaS spend.

What do you like best about the product?
This tool is highly innovative and helps bridge the gap between tracking spends or purchases and the actual deployments or installations carried out. It gives clear visibility into how resources are being used, making it easier to control costs and avoid wastage.

It is also an excellent choice for organizations looking to improve their asset management practices. By using this tool, teams can follow best practices, stay compliant, and ensure that every asset is tracked and utilized effectively. Overall, it’s a reliable and highly recommended solution for anyone in the asset management domain.
What do you dislike about the product?
It often is more accurate than SNOW, causing a variance in source of truth. Leadership has a tough time accepting this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Flexera One provides accuracy not found in most CMDBs

Essential Platform for Optimizing Software Spend

  • August 20, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Flexera One is its flexibility. It allows you to customize policies, templates, and configurations based on your organization’s specific needs. This level of control makes it easier to align the platform with internal processes and compliance requirements.
Other things that I like about Flexera are-
High flexibility with customizable policies and templates

Seamless integration with Power BI for advanced custom reporting and analytics

Cost Optimization Dashboard provides clear, centralized insights into cloud and software spend

Enables proactive decision-making through data-driven insights
What do you dislike about the product?
Steep learning curve for new users

Some UI elements lack intuitiveness like few in dashboard view/ Budget vs Actual View

Report customization requires some technical knowledge or Power BI expertise
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before using Flexera One, we were using CloudHealth to manage cloud costs. While CloudHealth offered basic cloud cost visibility, it lacked the depth and flexibility we needed across cloud environments.

Now, we can:

Track cloud usage across the entire organization

Identify underutilized licenses to optimize spend

Create custom policies and reports using Power BI

Gain real-time insights via the Cost Optimization Dashboard

This has led to better governance, cost savings, and stronger alignment between IT and finance teams.

FlexeraOne is the best all around ITAM tool out there

  • August 19, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Flexera can show license information details about on-prem and cloud software, making the life of a SAM manager easier, rather than relying on many disparate resources. I use Flexera regularly and am working to get more and more software vendor information into Flexera, to make the lives of others a bit easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
Flexera can take a while to integrate properly. Not all the connections can be done in the same manner, and the creation of custom licenses can take quite a long time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Now our executive leadership can look at Flexera and our top software vendors, and understand how we are utilizing those software licenses, which equates to dollars well invested towards the revenue of the company, or identifies potential savings to be realized.
