Ease of use, ease of implementation, ease of integration
What do you dislike about the product?
the limitation on cusotmizing alerts, not being able to choose start time, limitation on the custom sql query etc

The Solarwinds DPA offers a lot of great added value for everyone who deals with databases!
What do you like best about the product?
Solarwinds DPA is a great tool for any DBA and anyone working with databases. It provides valuable insights into different types of databases. Problems and performance bottlenecks can be quickly identified. The powerful alerting and reporting features are also a real added value for operators and developers. It helps to identify where problems are coming from and whether they are caused by the database itself or by the underlying infrastructure. Installation and set-up is simple and Solarwinds support is on hand to answer any questions you may have.
What do you dislike about the product?
Even more comprehensive machine learning would be great.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The DPA can help you solve all performance- and stability-related problems. You get a better understanding of the database queries and how they are executed.

It brings all the company database platforms under secure infrastructure for efficient performance monitoring. The setup process is simple and the application can easily integrate with data management systems. The customer support team responds effectively when consulted.

The period we have been working with this platform has resulted to positive database performance.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Close monitoring of database pinpoints inefficiencies across the network system with suitable solution. It is easy to give identify weak data signals that can negatively affect workflows.
User friendly application with maximum efficiency.
What do you like best about the product?
This application provides a user friendly interface. I like its colour-coded indicators the most.

I found its licence fee on a higher side. It might not suite to small scale companies.

Its real time monitoring helped me to address potential performance issues of our systems.With this I can also collect historical data.

I like the platform's ability to integrate with multiple sources. Allows synchronization of comments between different platforms. Provides real-time information to inform our operations.

At first we found it a little overwhelming. It would be nice if there was documentation. Setting up more complex workflows can be complicated.

SQL Sentry offers real-time performance monitoring, helping users track SQL Server performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize queries for efficient database operations. It also provides reporting and analysis for insights into performance and resource utilization.

I don't have any specific dislikes, but sometimes it can be challenging to integrate for newcomers.

I like the variety of options to create reports and then decide proactive and reactive changes.

There is not I dislike in this software so far

Lack of documentation about the existing databases and lack of monitoring.

Most helpful are recommendations on actions to make inquires faster, idetifying week points...

I would like to have easier movement throught options that I have in SW DPA, think about meny or somethins from one side taht will make easier jump from option to option.

- Love the Top SQL view and ability to drill down
- Out of the box reports but can also create your own by querying the underlying captured data
- Great product support and support teams (good engagement)
- And the holy grail of why we use such a tool...Historical views. We can go back to when an issue was occuring to see what was happening in the system. A real lifesaver and the original reason for purchasing the product some 8 years ago.

What do you dislike about the product?
There is not a lot we don't like but certainly we always have issues with deploying updates, it never seems to go smoothly. But support do assist quickly and they do listen to feedback and are working on improvements in this area.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SQL Sentry allows us to have a historical picture of the performance of our Database estate. It allows us to deep dive into performance issues quickly bith when they are happening or if we need to retrospectively look at something that happened overnight or the previous date or previous month even.
We can baseline to see when our server is veering from the norm. We can empower application owners to have better insight with what is happening when code changes are deployed.
It saves a lot of time when investigating performance issues. But it is also good at alerting, with the ability to set out of the box alerts or custom ranges of alerts.
