Alteryx - It just works

What do you like best about the product?
Alteryx is an incredibly approachable platform, made as easy to use as possible. There are many sections of tools that are accessible. I have found that the community is fantastic, and its become very easy to learn and progress within Alteryx.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think there is a little bit of a paywall when it comes to the server and some sections of tools; however, this does keep the initial designer costs down by splitting the product up.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
There has been a wide range of problems solved by using Alteryx, including (but not limited to): HR solutions, Predictive analytics, reporting of data, self-serve data, and data visualization. Benefits appear daily, and Alteryx has started leaking into personal projects.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Get signed up for a demo or a free trial, it will very likely prove value in that short space of time.

Not flexible for SMB users

What do you like best about the product?
Moves CSV's around very quickly, especially with overdone hardware.
What do you dislike about the product?
The scheduler is a waste of money. It does not run on events, just on time. Alteryx kept our six grand when it didn't fit our needs. We want our money back for this useless upsell as a customer of 8+ years.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's a fast ETL tool, the faster we can turn a result, the less money we spend filling orders.

What do you like best about the product?
Alteryx provides quick, low code data analytics and transformation features. It's flexibility and powerful tool set helps analysts and data professionals to adapt quickly to the ever changing business needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Connectivity to some data sources can be challenging, especially where APIs are involved, which results in more technical skills and knowledge required to achieve the necessary result.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Alteryx to support various use cases across our business, from commercial Finance, demand planning, trade marketing to ecommerce.

The fact that anybody can use it, no need to be technical!

The UI is a bit old and could need a refresh!

What do you like best about the product?
It's an open-source used for Data analytics which helps in Preparing and analyzing the data. It has good performance on huge data sets and also support many data sources compared to other tools. It is good at data access, data clean-up, data blending. Alteryx support data from anywhere and manupalate it and feeds to BI tools to generate reports and dashboards. It has good support of automation.
What do you dislike about the product?
Even though it is open source, to run pipelines, we need a paid license and Cost of license is high compared to other tools. it is compactable more on windows than other OS.it stores temporary data on disk it does not support any storage like S3, ADLS or Blob storage.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data cleansing, Data integration, Consolidation of many data sources, Data automation and Data documentation etc These problems have been resolved using Alteryx. By using Alteryx, we resolved data issues and have got optimized data as per requirement which is used for BI reporting tools.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Alteryx is a good tool for preparing, Cleaning and Analysing the data. The cost for running the pipeline is high, but the performance is excellent compared to any other tool. It has good quality data output, and it will provide optimized data as per project requirements. It helps to pull data from any source. it has good data connectivity compared to other tools.

What do you like best about the product?
- simple to use
- can be easily adjusted to your company needs
- data could be easily used in Alteryx
- doesn't require IT knowledge or long training to be used
- can be adjusted to meet the internal policy of any company when it comes to who can access what data (role-based segregation)
What do you dislike about the product?
- after six months of usage, I didn't find anything which I could honestly dislike

What do you like best about the product?
1) Heavy lifter: You can throw whatever you can at the software; it will just smile and throw the results right back at you in mere seconds.
2) I/O: There is a wide variety of data input/output options. I have always liked it in any software.
3) Integration: It can integrate with R, Machine Learning, and several other essential things which make life easier.
4) Learning Curve: Since it is a low programming software based on workflows, the learning curve is minimal. I remember it just took me a week to be up and running to do most tasks.
5) Community: Alteryx has one of the best communities. Period. Experts would help anyone who needs them. I am fond of its communities.
What do you dislike about the product?
1) Price: A 4 figure subscription? I get that it is a workflow-based software, and the Alteryx teams put in the best of their efforts to bring new things into it—still, four figures?
2) Not so smart: I have faced scenarios where Alteryx misses some fundamental features—renaming a column, reading from an Excel Binary file, etc. Once again, these things make me rethink the amount I am paying for the subscription.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
There was a very specific ask to work on two massive excel files. Every software which could handle the calculation was either taking too long or simply crashing. Someone in the wider team told us about Alteryx and the wonders it does. We took a trial, and last I remember, we had multiple licenses. It is an awesome behind the scenes, data prep software.

No direct publish feature for power BI.
Large response time for large data sets

GUI is not great and data visualization also

Extracting data from database. Performing complex transformation of large datasets. Data wrangling and prepartion . Using for Visualizating complex queries and performing joins
