What do you like best about the product?
Swiftype Search is a truly comprehensive platform that provides a variety of tools needed to build a very good search experience for your users' websites or applications. Swiftype Search allows you to create and manage a search experience tailored to the specific needs and patterns of your users very quickly. Swiftype Search is distinguished by being fully relevant software, having intuitive customization features and being easy to install. In general Swiftype Search is a very easy to configure platform and provides fairly accurate search results, its interface is really powerful and easy to work with, in general Swiftype Search is a simple but highly functional platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to have more control over how search results are generated, because currently it is a bit imprecise when performing searches and can be a headache for users. I also think that the 3 plans offered by Swiftype Search are a bit exaggerated and you really have to know how to choose according to the needs of the user, because they are really expensive, personally I think it would be very favorable Swiftype Search to have a cost structure a little cheaper so that many more people can purchase the service of Swiftype Search.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have been using Swiftype Search for several years now, and I must say that although it has been a platform that has had some setbacks it has been very functional for us in our company, it has really helped us to simplify our work, as it is very easy to work with and configure, in general we consider that Swiftype Search has been a very strategic tool for our company.

I recommend Swiftype Search because it is a platform of very good operation and high functionality, Swiftype Search is very easy to use, its interface is extremely simple but very complete, Swiftype Search provides the best experience to work because it is very useful, really this platform is distinguished by providing much solidity and guarantee of its service.
Very good software
What do you like best about the product?
Set-up and install was quick and easy, even for multiple sites. Customized result rankings are a key feature for us (although if you have a ton of results, it can be a little tedious to go through) that is also easy to use, along with the ability to create synonym sets for various search terms. Many of our search terms have variations or are easily misspelled, so the synonym set has greatly reduced the number of empty searches that users were experiencing.
What do you dislike about the product?
Theming of the search bar and results isn't exactly intuitive and can require a little guidance. Some pieces could use an upgrade (such as the color picker) to make it easy to theme based on your branding guidelines.

Very fast search engine
What do you like best about the product?
Apache Elasticsearch is very fast search engine. It is very easy to use. It is real time, open source and distributed. Its response time is in milliseconds. It is json based on search engine. It also has HTTP web interface. Elasticsearch is developed in Java. We have many java libraries available to access Elastic search for example Jest client. I also has Kibana which is an open source data visualization plugin for Elasticsearch.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing as such. Only the Elasticsearch json queries we need to learn before using this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is document based, that is no-sql. It helps to me search, filter and sort the data in real time. If we manually implement such then that may cause serious performance issue. It can be used as a document based database as well.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
There are other search engines in the market, Cosmos DB is one of them, but costly to use. This one is easy to use and 2 digit millisecond response time. So please go for it.
Robust solution for search and indexing
What do you like best about the product?
Incredibly broad API. You can really do a lot of things with ElasticSearch when it comes to search and data, and I haven't even scratched the surface.
What do you dislike about the product?
Since there are so many APIs and tools within ES, and variety between releases, it can be difficult to figure out if you are using the API correctly or not. The DSL is not exactly easy to follow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it to power a search algorithm that caters results to the user's needs.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are just using basic functionality, you may be able to just use your regular DB and it's functionalities.
Fantastic search engine
What do you like best about the product?
It's fast and reliable, very useful for searching and filtering large data sets. It's one of best ways to allow your app users to quickly navigate into your data, with full text search support, and aggregations help to increase power of filtering.
What do you dislike about the product?
Query language isn't the easy thing to implement, specially when you need advanced features (like search, aggregations with nested aggregations, plus filters and all in a single query).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's helping our users to navigate into own data, generating reports, allowing a search across entire app or in particular features.

Great tool to use with your app, useful also for managing logs or exploring any data with Kibana.
Terminated deployment but still getting billed. No help from support.
We decided to try this service because we were looking for alternative to AWS Elasticsearch service. Setting up was easy but then we quickly realised that there was no way to host the service in our own VPC (which you can do with AWS Elasticsearch) so we terminated the deployment after just a half of day use and went on deploying latest ElasticSearch setup right on vanilla EC2 instance in our VPC which also pretty straightforward and appears to be the most flexible solution.
However to our surprise a few days later checking our AWS bill we noticed that despite the fact that our test deployment has been terminated days ago we were still being billed by Elasticsearch Inc as if it was still running.
We contacted their support but received no response to date. And we still getting billed. There is no deployment in our list so nothing we can do on our end.
Very frustrating and very unprofessional from Elasticsearch Inc.

The set up is really straightforward and all the operational tasks. The big disadvantage is that you need a plus machine to host your logstashs agents.
Modern Elasticsearch without the tuning
I moved to this from the AWS Elasticsearch service, and it's a breath of fresh air.
It includes XPack, and it's a modern version, which allows for some of the latest features.
The management interface is intuitive and provides a good level of flexibility vs ease of use.
Custom configuration can be added through the management portal into the elasticsearch.yml, and custom plugins can be installed.
Easy to configure and use
Switched to Elasticsearch Service on Elastic Cloud after using AWS Elasticsearch service. The main reason was the ability of using x-pack plugins.
