The application is great and very useful for vulnerability assessment for network systems
What do you like best about the product?
The tool offers great descriptive and helpful reports with scan results, the application overall security improves with each fixes implemented upon the systems.
What do you dislike about the product?
The application is quite difficult to setup, for servers it was okay, but for the network switches and firewall programming, compliance test setup and configuration was a bit tideous and in times adjustable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With the Nessus tool many of our organisation units have secured for autiting purpose as well as increasing the information security level aspects, and overall integrity of the systems.

Nessus is greatly useful for the application and network level security, the usage for audit and assessment work was very ease with the use of this tool, also the reports exported are very helpful for the assessment works, the support is okay.

Nessus is a one of the best Vulnerability scanner for the External Vulnerability Assessment, Internal Vulnerability assessments and the compliance scanning most of the time internal Vulnerability assessments findings are 100% correct when we verify them manually. Compliance scans also so easy with this we can run scans so easily when we enter the admin credentials of the servers or databases and it perform scan according to CIS benchmark or any other standards available on the nessus.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nessus prices are relatively higher they increase the price recently as well and also nessus is not an good option for Web application Vulnerability scanners not much information provided for We b application scans.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We mainly use nesses for Scan internal networks and outside network scans and also it helps lot for the Os hardening and Database hardening Assignments.

Nessus is a one of the best Vulnerability scanner in the market even though price is higher it gives lot of help for security assignments for complete those fast and easy.

What do you like best about the product?
The tool results are descriptive and sufficient for understanding the Vulnerabilities, the reference and mitigation recommendations provided for each Vulnerabilities is really helpful in solving bigger issues. We can perform vulnerability assessment on almost any network device or different server platforms like windows, linux l, unix or Mac based systems.
What do you dislike about the product?
The tool configuration is a bit of experts game, once you are familiar with each configuration for different devices it'll be adaptable but sometimes we get huge road blocks to complete a credentialed checks especially in configuring servers of windows based system, also the reports produce some false positive Vulnerabilities that is one troublesome thing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We used nessus pro for our company for finding loopholes in our network system and testing servers for application related fixes and missing critical patches was easy for us.

Nessus is one of the best tool for vulnerability scanning and reporting, it contains so many options of scanning for almost all network devices and kinds of servers with continually updating its database.

As an associate consultant, Nessus was my go to vulnerability assessment tool due to its quickness and ease of use. It also offers good reliability for its price.

Always make sure to scan multiple times to be sure of the results as Nessus could give false positives at times.

About Nessus - Its very good network security scanner and vulnerability assesment tool. Nessus, scanner gives us some good results in penetration testing. The ability to schedule recurring scan jobs is helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
GUI - The GUI of Nessus is not soo good, need to change the GUI which makes any user to use it as user friendly.

Nessus is one of the best network scanners on the market today. Vulnerability scanning are executed properly.

Great tool used for getting vulnerabilities in server router switches. One of the best tool recently added CPE Vulnerability assessment

There is an integration of CPE it creats some proxy issue please make the issue resolve as soon as possible

What do you like best about the product?
When it comes to performing vulnerability assessment of the systems, Nessus is the widely used tool because of this tools ability to scan and provide comprehensive results of the scan. Nessus has large number of features for performing vulnerability assessment which very few scanner has. To start with, Nessus has ability to schedule the scan any given time. The main feature of this scanner is that it has set of policy templates to perform different types of scans. It has predefined policies to perform the scans like host discovery scan, malware scan, web application test, mobile devices scan to mention a few but I think the standout policy should be the internal PCI network scan which allows to perform the scan and report the vulnerabilities in accordance with PCI DSS compliance standard. Nessus allows to perform credential based scans which is a big plus.
What do you dislike about the product?
The thing I dislike is that Nessus only allows to export the scan results into readable HTML, CSV and Nessus file format which I think could be improved by adding ability to support file formats like PDF.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Nessus has helped me greatly to effectively perform vulnerability assessment. Also, I have found the scan results, vulnerability information of Nessus scans very helpful while performing penetrating testing of different systems.

I would really recommend this application to anyone who wants to perform vulnerability assessment because if this applications abilities to perform scans and effectiveness of the scan results.
