Automated cross-account backups have reduced disaster recovery time and support reliable drills
What is our primary use case?
How has it helped my organization?
N2W has positively impacted our organization by allowing us to conduct recovery drills and share information with our customers about our improvements. We have managed to reduce the disaster recovery time from four hours to one and a half hours, which is sufficient for our needs.
What is most valuable?
The best feature N2W offers is the cross-region, cross-account capability.
What stands out about the cross-region and cross-account feature is that I don't need to handle API calls to copy from one region to another region. I simply create the backup plan and schedule the time, and N2W takes care of copying the snapshot. Additionally, I can set up the subscription for monitoring, and in case of any failure, it sends an email to the corresponding team.
What needs improvement?
I wonder if there is any pathway for backing up other solutions such as OpenSearch and other services.
I chose a rating of nine out of ten because I expect the ability to back up Elasticsearch or something other than RDS and EC2, with OpenSearch being the primary solution I desire.
For how long have I used the solution?
I did not evaluate other options before choosing N2W, as this was referred by one of my friends.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
In my experience, N2W is stable, and I do not see any issues; the support is excellent.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
From a scalability point of view, I do not see any issues in our environment. The accountability of the resources covered in N2W remains constant, so I do not face any issues with scalability.
How are customer service and support?
Customer support for N2W is excellent, as they are able to answer quickly, and I do not have any issues.

My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing is smooth, as I have not faced any issues while spinning up the instance from the marketplace, and the documentation is very comprehensive.

Reliable backup software
N2WS serves as a reliable backup and recovery solution built in the cloud, for the cloud and it offers cross-cloud capabilities with the ability to archive AWS snapshots to Azure Repository.
Good snapshot scheduler
I don't like to consider CPM a full and complete backup software. It's more like an upgraded snapshot scheduler for AWS. It serves it purposes and does it well. I can create, edit and manage my backup policies to create snapshots in whatever schedules I like. It's compatible with pretty much every relevant element on AWS and it's easy to use and upgrade. I'd like to use days instead of versions for the retention periods, so hopefully they add that in the future.
Overall, if you want a simple, functional and non-expensive tools for you AWS Snapshots, this is your tool.
A highly stable and easy-to-use solution that can be used for backing up EC2 instances

We use N2WS Backup & Recovery for backing up EC2 instances.
What is most valuable?
N2WS Backup & Recovery is very easy to use and configure backup for AWS instances. Since it's deployed on AWS, it's very easy to use and gives multiple reporting features.
What needs improvement?
N2WS Backup & Recovery efficiently takes cloud backups on EC2 instances. The solution has the option to take backup on-prem servers, but it's not very efficient.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using N2WS Backup & Recovery for more than six years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
N2WS Backup & Recovery is a very stable solution.

We have contacted the solution's technical support team, who are very helpful and help us solve our issues. If there are any product issues, they involve the development team to sort that out.

For maintenance, only one person is enough because basic algorithm, you can work with it.

I used the free version. I don't have much experience with the paid version. But I'm trying to compare the pricing between different options.

We're currently exploring our options. We are comparing N2WS Backup & Recovery with antivirus and Veeam. So, I'm trying to compare the features of the software.
