SAP is a decent product for me to find what I’m looking for
What do you like best about the product?
I like I can find information that ties to my job functions such as looking at purchase order(PO) history on bill of material items that we procure from vendors and also work order information on parts that we make in-house.
I like the user interface of SAP BI too which I find easier on the eyes than the standard SAP software.

What do you dislike about the product?
I have the standard SAP application at work too and some of functionality on SAP is the same as SAP BI so it cancels out.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to cost our material hardware on our proposals easily from information that we pull from SAP BI.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a useful platform to pull and export information.

What do you like best about the product?
SAP Business Objects was a niche tool in the early 2010s because of its compatibility with various data sources and use of Unvierse for creating data model for Web Intelligence.
What do you dislike about the product?
With time, SAP BO has become more redundant and is difficult to upgrade and integrate the new data sources, which can be easily integrated in other BI Tools.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use SAP BO for reporting purposes, mostly tabular reports across various domains.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
SAP BO was a goto BI Tool in early 2010s, but since then there are several other BI Tools like QlikView and Tableau which provide the user friendly interface.

Easy to learn and can manage a large database. Nice graphical user interface.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's expensive and has poor customer service. Seems to have a lot of server shutdowns

Overall, this product is very helpful and integrates well with other programs .

Business objects is not very user friendly. It takes a significant amount of time to figure out all the nuances behind the program.

I mainly have used this program to track KPIs and for business analytics. It definitely takes the guesswork out of making decisions and helps to inform others as well

Familiar layout and transactions across companies.

Very complicated to sort data needed. Programming requests are often expensive and difficult to implement successfully if at all.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Quick access to tracking costs is the most effective feature I have used.
Databasing at it's better than averagest!

The robust database indexing, the search feature is really fleshed out, it's file export capabilities are great.

It can be clunky and crashes often, need a restart.

We use BI to generate all of our daily order reports and to store all of the bills of materials and order notes from past machinery projects.

Handles our data base and reporting needs, I would imagine it can easily do the same for any manufacturing company.

The complexity and the tidiness needed to work the software correctly

Making orders (intercompany, purchasing, etc.), checking storage, working order, etc.
Experience with Business Objects
What do you like best about the product?
I have used business objects for over 2.5 years now. It is great tool for scripting and developing reports. It has easy drag and drop options to select what variable you want in your final report. If you have large number of facilities and have data stored in multiple universes, it allows you to create a combined query and get final report from multiple universes. You can send your scripts to other Individuals within your team/ For any recurring reports you can schedule them and they run whenever you've set them to run. It has some amazing quick filters that can be used while writing your script that allows you get tailored results.
What do you dislike about the product?
I feel like it has some capability for visualizations but definitely lacks uniqueness and intuitiveness that other visualization tools have. In addition the process of exporting reports is quite time consuming and this is something that can be improved so it becomes more user friendly. The final reports can improve on their filter-ability so it is easier for the user to review only specific data in a more time-efficient manner. Business objects allows you to view the actual SQL script that is run for the your customized report but at times it has different names for the tables that it links to in the data warehouse which at times makes it difficult to cross validate if you want find the associated tables in your data warehouse.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use this tool primarily for reporting. Easy to generate structured reports and export it out as excel report and share with the business owners. This tool allows to create and save your scripts in personal folder for ongoing use in the future. We also have some scripts saved on the public folder which other individual can access and run without actually having to recreate them. It is good tool for users who are not proficient in writing scripts in SQL or other reporting tools.

Improved visualization capabilities, make it more user friendly on the aspect of filtering the final reports and exporting them out from the tool.
