Overview
Ganglia 3.7.4 on Ubuntu 22.04 with Free maintenance support by ATH.
This is a repackaged open source software product wherein additional charges apply for support.Ganglia consists of two main components: gmond (Ganglia Monitoring Daemon) and gmetad (Ganglia Metadata Daemon). The gmond daemon runs on each node in the cluster and collects local system metrics. It gathers performance data using plug-ins and then sends this data to a central location or multiple locations specified by gmetad. The gmetad daemon collects, aggregates, and stores the received metrics from multiple gmond daemons. It maintains a consolidated view of the cluster's performance data, storing it in Round-Robin Databases (RRDs) or other supported storage backends. Users can access this data through a web-based frontend provided by Ganglia. The web interface displays graphs and visualizations that represent the cluster's current and historical performance metrics. Users can monitor trends, identify bottlenecks, and analyze the performance of their systems using this interface.Ganglia is a powerful and flexible monitoring tool that enables administrators and users to gather, visualize, and analyze performance metrics from distributed systems and clusters, facilitating effective management and optimization of computing resources.
Highlights
- Ganglia is highly scalable and capable of handling large distributed systems with thousands of nodes. Its architecture allows for efficient monitoring of extensive clusters without significant performance degradation.
- It provides real-time monitoring capabilities, allowing users to view current system metrics and performance data of individual nodes or the entire cluster.
- Ganglia offers a user-friendly web interface for visualizing performance metrics through graphs, charts, and customizable dashboards. This interface enables easy navigation and analysis of system performance.
