    Overview

    Play video

DKP Enterprise is a centralized management plane that acts as a single point of observability and control for all your Kubernetes clusters, such as on-premise, vSphere, and EKS clusters. DKP provides all components needed for production-ready fleet management - Kubecost, Flux, Velero, Prometheus, Grafana, Cert-Manager, Calico, Gatekeeper, Dex, Nvidia GPU Operator , and data apps like Kafka, Spark, and Cassandra. Taking a declarative approach to Kubernetes, DKP Enterprise leverages CAPI for infrastructure management and FluxCD for application lifecycle management. Detailed cost data, plus additional insights generated by D2iQ, ensure transparency of the cost and health of clusters. Multi-tenant logging and role-based policy allow organizations to allocate responsibility. Day 2 applications can be deployed in any Kubernetes managed or self-attached clusters on-premise, in the cloud, edge, vSphere, and air-gapped scenarios.

DKP enables easier management of EKS clusters. When utilizing AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS), you must add additional services for capabilities such as multi-cluster management, operational insights, Kubecost, Flux, Velero, Prometheus, Grafana, Cert-Manager, Calico, Gatekeeper, and Dex. DKP brings value to EKS customers by providing all components needed for a production-ready Kubernetes environment. You can provision EKS clusters using the DKP UI and upgrade your EKS clusters - managing the complete lifecycle of EKS clusters from a centralized platform.

DKP Enterprise comes with, DKP Insights, which is in Tech Preview. DKP Insights detects various anomalies across your Kubernetes clusters and workloads and presents them as Insight Alerts in an Insights table.

    Container image

Containers are lightweight, portable execution environments that wrap server application software in a filesystem that includes everything it needs to run. Container applications run on supported container runtimes and orchestration services, such as Amazon Elastic Container Service (Amazon ECS) or Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (Amazon EKS). Both eliminate the need for you to install and operate your own container orchestration software by managing and scheduling containers on a scalable cluster of virtual machines.

    Steeper Learning Curve

    Reviewed on Mar 19, 2024
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
D2IQ core asset is its ability to operate Kubernetes clusters in many environments like cloud computing and local servers. The flexiblity gives me the centralized control panel to manage all my deployments that are Kubernetes-based and as a result, simplifies management and reduces the level of complexity
What do you dislike about the product?
D2IQ does possess that high learning curve in comparison with some other Kubernetes platforms. A cluster set-up and its management took up more time than communicated in the beginning because there were no good available and easy-to-use documents. As there are articles and pieces of materials, the best option would be to synergize them into the ultimate guide that can help bosses especially new bosses.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In the new role as a D2IQ user, I can truly appreciate the multi-cluster management solution which is very important part of my work. This simplest way is having one pane glass for all my Kubernetes deployments - I can save the time and remove the errors when working with all the complex infrastructures.

    Hinder the user experience

What do you like best about the product?
D2iQ needs to provide reliability when it comes to managing our data infrastructure. Their platform does not automate tasks consuming us time and resources. The monitoring system they provide does not ensure disruptions.
What do you dislike about the product?
It does not allow us to focus on our core business operations. Their customer support team is unresponsive and does not promptly solve any concerns we have. I do have some reservations, about D2iQs customer support. It often takes them a while to respond.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Their solutions is generic and unhelpful at times. It feels like they prioritize acquiring customers than taking care of existing ones. Their pricing structure is confusing making it difficult for us to accurately determine the cost of their services.

Looking for cloud agnostic cluster management and centralised visibility? Look no further than D2iQ

    Reviewed on Jul 27, 2021
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
I love that I can spin up a cluster using industry-standard tools in minutes and, without any configuration, have a centralized dashboard and logging capability for all my managed k8s clusters. Also, once installed, you communicate with your clusters the same way you are used to, i.e. using kubectl. It's this none wrapping of open source technologies that I think makes D2iQ stand out from its competitors.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is not much that I dislike about D2iQ's offering, but if I had to point out something, it might be their documentation. Although they have better documentation than some other companies, they could certainly improve on the sections that explain in detail how their platform works. They do have great regular blog posts that go into a lot of this, but collating a lot of this into a single place would be a great idea.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In the world of multi-cloud environments, the fact that D2iQ is cloud-agnostic means that I don't need to think much about which cloud provider I am running my clusters on. I, therefore, have more time to spend on the actual application than on what it's running on, which is brilliant. D2iQ gives me the ability to spin up a cluster already configured and ready to go with all the tools I need to run a production-grade application in k8s.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking for a tool that removes the hard part of setting up and managing a cluster with production-grade tools, then look no further than D2iQ Konvoy & Kommander. The ability to be able to manage multiple clusters on different cloud providers using managed or non-managed services or even on air-gapped servers within a single interface, I think, is just brilliant. I would highly recommend D2iQ to anyone running production k8s clusters.

A great platform for microservices infrastructure management

    Reviewed on Nov 22, 2018
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
Support of several frameworks for scheduling different kinds of workloads and it's 2 level scheduling which results in great efficiency for managing resources. Service discovery, informative dashboards are well designed. Most of the essential features for running containers like service discovery, autoscaling, application configuration, and secrets management etc were out of the box and well designed.
What do you dislike about the product?
The CLI is not very robust and UI for marathon framework was very buggy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Used it for managing a cluster of on-premise servers to run several microservices style apps. This tool provided a great insight into the infrastructure utilization and helped in real-time health monitoring.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking for an efficient platform for microservices based infrastructure and trying to improve resource utilization , DCOS is a great choice to consider.
