Overview
The NIST compliance framework, developed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology, is a set of guidelines, standards, and best practices that organizations can follow to manage and mitigate cybersecurity risks. It is widely recognized as a best practice for organizations looking to enhance their cybersecurity posture. Many government agencies, contractors, and businesses in highly-regulated industries such as healthcare and finance have adopted the NIST framework as a way to manage and mitigate cybersecurity risks. Additionally, organizations that process, store, or transmit sensitive data can benefit from using the NIST framework to implement appropriate security controls and safeguard against data breaches. The NIST framework can be used as a roadmap for developing and improving cybersecurity programs and can help organizations achieve compliance with various cybersecurity regulations and standards.
