Overview
EOSDA Crop Monitoring is an online satellite-based precision agriculture platform for field monitoring created by EOS Data Analytics (EOSDA), a global provider of AI-powered satellite imagery analytics. The platform is a one-stop solution that integrates multiple types of data (crop health, weather conditions, crop rotation, field activities, elevation, soil moisture, and a host of other types) all in one place.
Soil moisture analytics is integrated as one of the features on EOSDA Crop Monitoring platform and is widely used by farmers and agronomists, enabling them to forecast investment in artificial irrigation as certain regions have more than one agricultural growing season.
Insurance agents can trace and compare historical and current soil moisture values to make better-informed decisions as to insurance payments.
Data required from client:
- AOI on a country level.
EOSDA solution model and algorithm:
- The technology is based on the restoration of moisture content from radiometric data (SMAP or AMSR), taking into account soil type and surface temperature.
- SMAP / AMSR satellite data with revisit rate of 1-3 days.
- Surface soil moisture (5 cm) and root zone (up to 70 cm deep).
- Historical data from 2002.
- 250 m / 250 m (possible 100 m on request).
- Soil data (clay / clay, density, sand).
- Can be added to EOSDA products on a field level EOSDA Crop Monitoring Platform / API.
