Enterprise Recon Cloud - New VPC
The CloudFormation creates:
- A new VPC and public Subnet
- An EC2 instance containing the Enterprise Recon Cloud Master Server and Proxy Agents
- An IAM role and IAM instance profile to allow the EC2 instance to create an SSM Parameter store with your initial Master Server Password
- A new Security Group for your Enterprise Recon Cloud instance
- Create a new key pair to access the Enterprise Recon Cloud EC2 instance
During resource creation, the user should specify the following parameters:
- Deployment size
- VPC CIDR block
- Subnet CIDR block
- Subnet Availability Zone
- Security Group CIDR block
- Security Group name
- Name of new key pair
CloudFormation Template (CFT)
AWS CloudFormation templates are JSON or YAML-formatted text files that simplify provisioning and management on AWS. The templates describe the service or application architecture you want to deploy, and AWS CloudFormation uses those templates to provision and configure the required services (such as Amazon EC2 instances or Amazon RDS DB instances). The deployed application and associated resources are called a "stack."

What do you like best about the product?
What's great about the Enterprise Recon is the speed and comprehensive data overview.
One of the biggest advantages of Enterprise Recon is how it pulls together data from all over the place into one central location. This tool does an excellent job of offering a full view of what’s going on. It’s made decision-making so much faster because everything’s right there, and it has really helped streamline our processes and improve our data handling.

Limited Integrations - my personal views and experience with this tool don't integrate as seamlessly with some of the third-party tools we use. While it works great within its own ecosystem, connecting it to other platforms isn't always as smooth as I'd like it to be.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As PCI compliance, clear PAN must not be stored and this tool maintains our PCI security compliance.

What do you like best about the product?
Enterprise Recon is the go-to solution for discovery of sensitive data at rest. It is very effective at detecting stored cardholder data, PII data or other sensitive data.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are sometimes struggles with scans that fail or take too long to complete. There is not much diagnostic informaton available unless the scan is started again with diagnostics turned on.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Generally iuse by our clients for PCI DSS and PII compliance purposes.

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use, simple to maintain. Support is fantastic, the team greatly assisted me in picking up the software for a refreshed integration and implementation for our environment. Overall solid PCI scanning product that is unmatched in the field.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some scripting work required to organise objects categorically. At the point in time I was introduced to the software I was quite green, luckily the support team assisted me greatly during the process.

What do you like best about the product?
Our primary use case was identifying and managing personally identifiable information across a diverse set of structured and unstructured data sources. Enterprise Recon consistently delivered high accuracy with notably low false positive rates
What do you dislike about the product?
In my experience, the upfront setup and policy tuning is very important and organisations should focus on getting this right as it will save you heaps of time and effort later on.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The product's ability to align with multiple regulatory frameworks (GDPR, PCI DSS, HIPAA, PDPA etc.) was a huge advantage, allowing us to confidently demonstrate compliance during audits and internal reviews.
