Overview
This is a repackaged software product wherein additional charges apply for seller support, as well as licensing fees paid to AWS. The additional cost is applicable to the extended support of 24-hour response time.
-
Capture the output of EXPLAIN FORM=JSON, add the 'Into' option to EXPLAIN FORM=JSON, and save the JSON format output in a user variable.
-
Keep client comments, MySQL 8.1 keeps MySQL client comments. If you need to use the previous behavior, you need to use the -- skip comments option
-
MySQL Replication changes the default value of SOURCE-RETR_COUNT in the CHANGE REPLICATION SOURCE TO statement to 10. This means that, using this option and the default value of SOURCEVNet RETRY (60), the replica waits for 60 seconds between reconnection attempts and attempts to reconnect for 10 minutes at this rate before timeout and failover.
-
Before selecting a new master node, the group_deplication_ct_as_primary() function needs to wait for all ongoing DDL statements before completing all transactions.
-
The MySQL version number used in version specific comments now supports major versions consisting of one or two digits, which means that the entire version can now be five or six digits long.
-
Strengthen the logs of the server shutdown process. With the increase of startup and shutdown messages for MySQL servers, plugins, and components, strengthen the logs of the shutdown process. Additional features should help troubleshoot and debug issues, especially when the server takes a long time to shut down.
-
Added SHOW PARSE_TREE statement, which displays the JSON format parse tree of the select statement. This sentence is only used for testing and development, not for production. It is only used for debugging versions
-
Added the tls certificates forsed validation system variable, allowing DBAs to enforce certificate validation when the server is started or when reloading certificates at runtime using the ALTERNATE INSTANCE RELOAD TLS statement. After enabling enforcement, if a certificate is found to be invalid, server calls will be stopped at startup to prevent invalid certificates from being loaded at runtime and a warning will be issued.
-
Added some state variables specific to group replication plugins, which can improve the diagnosis and troubleshooting of network instability, providing statistical information about network usage, control messages, and data messages for each group member.
-
Added a server system variable to control the amount of time MySQL accounts connected to MySQL servers using LDAP pluggable authentication must wait when the LDAP server is shut down or unresponsive. For the following simple and SASL based LDAP authentication variables, the new default timeout is 30 seconds, and connection and response timeouts can only be configured through system variables on the Linux platform. For more information, please refer to Setting Timeout for LDAP Plug in Authenticatio
Highlights
- In terms of user management, a system variable "validate_password.changed_characters_percentage" has been added for password verification. This variable is used to configure the number of characters that a user must modify when changing a password, calculated as a percentage of the number of characters in the current password. Assuming the variable value is set to 50, at least half of the characters in the new password need to be modified.
- In terms of MySQL auditing, a new function has been added. When installing the audit plugin, you can specify the database where the user stores the log filter conditions.
- In addition, MySQL Audit adds new functionality to use the scheduler component to configure and execute recurring tasks to refresh the memory cache.
