Steps

• Assess - Conduct a migration readiness assessment to identify and evaluate strengths, opportunities for improvement, and business benefits.
• Mobilise - Create a migration plan and detailed business case. Then, gain experience by migrating pilot workloads.
• Migrate & Modernise - Execute the large-scale migration plan developed during the mobilise phase.

Migration Types

• Rehosting - This is a traditional "lift & shift" of workloads to AWS, automated with tools like AWS Migration Service,
• Replatforming - This often involves improving services as they are migrated by making them cloud-native or improving the underlying infrastructure they're run on - for example, migrating VMs to containerised workloads run on EKS,
