Fleetwise Vehicle Simulator

Fleetwise Vehicle Simulator is a system for processing/replaying signals generated from vehicles. Users can perform simulations related to vehicle operation through the Simulator Manager Web.

The Fleetwise Vehicle Simulator consists of two components:

• the Simulator Manager Web, which manages the simulations
• the Edge Vehicle Simulator software, which serves as a virtual vehicle.

Simulation management functions:

• Signal collection management
  • Signal Collection is the minimum unit of signal processing that can be used for simulation. It has a VSS-based name, type, and value, and can be created by importing data collected from external vehicles or stored in Timestream. Users can modify signal values or add event values.
• Vehicle Driving Scenario management
  • Users can design the driving pattern of the vehicle. Users can simulate the driving pattern of the vehicle by combining Signal Collection.
• Fleet Simulation management
  • Users can simulate the driving pattern of a single vehicle or a group of vehicles by combining Vehicle Driving Scenario.
• Simulation execution management
  • Users can check the status of the vehicles being simulated and the simulation history.

AWS services used in this solution include:

• AWS IoT Core:
  • a service for connecting IoT devices, collecting, storing, and analyzing data. This service collects, processes, and stores data collected from IoT devices.
• AWS Timestream:
  • a service for storing and analyzing time-series data. This service is used to store sensor data collected in this solution.
• AWS IoT Fleetwise:
  • a cloud-based vehicle data collection service. This solution is operated based on the Fleetwise service.
• AWS Elastic Container Service (ECS):
  • a service for running and managing containers. Edge Vehicle Simulator can be containerized and deployed using this service.
• AWS Relational Database Service (RDS):
  • a service for building, operating, and scaling relational databases. Users can configure a database related to simulation data.
• Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2):
  • a service for running and managing virtual servers. Simulation Manager Web can be run using EC2.

With Fleetwise Vehicle Simulator, users can quickly build prototypes of Fleetwise services and dynamically generate large-scale vehicle data simulations as needed.
