The freedom to innovate is now as limitless as your imagination. Deliver AI innovations faster by focusing on exploring data, not managing data infrastructure.
With AI Unlimited, you can:
- Explore, experiment, and operationalize AI use cases without risk or restraint to production environments
- Innovate faster with a secure and seamlessly integrated ecosystem
- Efficiently control costs and drive value
Data engineers, data scientists, and developers need flexible and powerful capabilities to support AI use cases.
Teradata AI Unlimited brings the power of Teradata's industry-leading ClearScape AnalyticsTM capabilities to AWS, delivering an enterprise-grade AI engine that maximizes exploration and discovery in a low-cost environment. Take advantage of high-performance compute, powerful in-engine analytics, and massive parallel processing.
Get started quickly by simply deploying the environment in your cloud infrastructure and exploring data where it lives in AWS. This allows you to avoid the time, complexity, and cost of moving data and managing data infrastructure.
Make your budget count with compute resources you can control. Pay only for the actual time you spend exploring and problem-solving. Instead of worrying about the risk of costly overruns and time-consuming provisioning, you can put your ideas to the test and produce more results for the time you invest in creating.
AI Unlimited delivers an open and connected ecosystem so you can access the right capabilities for each step in the AI and data analytics journey, including:
- Access to any data lake that supports Apache Iceberg and Delta Lake open table formats (OTFs)
- Simultaneous connection to multiple open catalogs and OTF types, enabling cross-read, cross-write, and cross-query of data stored in multi-cloud and multi-data-lake environments
- Compatibility with open file formats, such as Parquet and CSV, with access from Jupyter Notebook
- Integration with Python to call analytics functions, execute Python code, and import Python models directly into AI Unlimited
At any time, you can smoothly transition and operationalize a prototype in a VantageCloud production environment. This allows you to focus on creating more business value for your organization by deriving insights from large amounts of data, instead of managing data infrastructure.
During the public preview, AI Unlimited will be deployed on your cloud infrastructure and standard compute instance, storage costs, and AI Unlimited software charges will apply.
Highlights
- Access all shared storage in AWS and other OTF sources to avoid the time, cost, and complexity of data movement and data infrastructure management
- Power new AI use cases with advanced in-engine analytics, robust integrations, and the ability to smoothly transition prototypes into a Teradata VantageCloud production environment at any time
- Get the freedom to experiment without impacting mission-critical production environments

CloudFormation Template (CFT)
AWS CloudFormation templates are JSON or YAML-formatted text files that simplify provisioning and management on AWS. The templates describe the service or application architecture you want to deploy, and AWS CloudFormation uses those templates to provision and configure the required services (such as Amazon EC2 instances or Amazon RDS DB instances). The deployed application and associated resources are called a "stack."

Usage instructions
Users deploy AI Unlimited via a CloudFormation Template. One or more Ai Unlimited compute cluster instances are created in the user specified subnet, optionally mounting an additional EBS volume to use as persistent storage for the embedded Jupyter Labs service. Secrets for Jupyter login and compute clustering membership are stored in AWS Secret Manager and retrieved by the compute instances. The Teradata AI Unlimited engine is configured and the Jupyter Labs service is available for the user. They can perform advance analytics on data in the object store using the AI Unlimited engine and Jupyter notebook UI.
The CloudFormation’s template and associated AMI do not save any customer secrets for deployment. The AMI itself uses a instance profile and role created by the template which grants access to 3 secrets in the AWS secret store. These consist of:
- the first nodes Ip address
- a membership token used for the initial clustering by all instances in the deployment.
- and a user defined password for accessing the Jupyter Labs UI running on the first instance.
Note that all 3 of these secret values are accessible by the user in their account and are only relevant for the first 1 to 2 minutes of usage. Additionally. password updates performed by the user in Jupyter will not be passed to the secret store.
No sensitive information saved, no data encryption configuration used, No cryptographic keys used, and application does not make use of any encryption techniques
IAM is created to allow retrieval of the cluster membership secrets and Jupyter login password from AWS Secretes manager. Note that the cluster membership secrets are only valid for membership during the initial deployment phase. Once the cluster has assembled, having access to these secrets will not grant new instances membership, nor will removing them impact cluster operation. IAM policy to allow session manager logins are optionally created if enabled by user parameters.
No new keys are created, though the user may provide a ssh key for login.
A preexisting network and subnet must be provided by the user as inputs. Communication between AI unlimited compute instance nodes is unrestricted. Communication to Unlimited nodes is limited to the Jupyter UI port, the Teradata SQL port and the ssh port, all of which are restricted by user defined CIDRs, Security Groups or Managed Prefix Lists.
Instances are launched via CloudFormation and self-configure. Users need to wait for the Jupyter access URL in the template outputs, at which point the system is ready to use.
Additional costs are limited to increasing the instance size and/or number of instances.
No additional data encryption is performed.
