    Overview

Amphinicy Technologies has developed Blink - next-gen software modem to enable anyone interested in Earth observation and space science to command own satellite and receive its payload data in real time - reliably, efficiently and conveniently. Blink AMI is a distribution of Blink Modem which allows operators flexible use of AWS Ground Station network. They can start and stop modem instances and other related infrastructure only when needed, minimizing cost and maximizing scalability.

Blink is a real-time, high data rate, software satellite modem designed to run on standard COTS servers. It moves digital signal processing from high-maintenance single-purpose hardware to software. It can run on bare metal (e.g., a standard server or laptop) or virtual/cloud environments. Blink can bring previously impossible missions to life and make missions generally easier to manage, more productive and cheaper to set up and evolve.

The default Blink AMI configuration provides support for the Suomi NPP mission narrowband public broadcast downlink. For configuring the modem for any other mission or purpose, please contact blink-support@amphinicy.com .

Licensing for Blink AMI may be obtained at competitive prices via a private offer. For more information, please contact awsmarketplace@amphinicy.com .

General support for TT&C; CCSDS and DVB-S2(X) protocols (including CCSDS over DVB-S2(X)) for uplink and downlink; including constant, variable and adaptive decoding and demodulation (CCM, VCM, ACM), with uplink in CCM mode. For more details, please contact blink-support@amphinicy.com .

64-bit (x86) Amazon Machine Image (AMI)

    Amazon Machine Image (AMI)

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

Reliable support has boosted cross-selling and revenue but troubleshooting consistency still needs work

    Reviewed on Dec 02, 2025
Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Blink AMI  is GGM support. This product helps me cross-sell and also increase pipeline for GGM support. We are working on it and learning more about my main use case for Blink AMI , and it is very reliable.

    What is most valuable?

In my experience, the best feature Blink AMI offers is reliability.

Blink AMI is reliable for me because we encountered certain glitches in our protocol times and with the customer support and team help, we got it resolved because the time was of essence and people did a good job and I am happy with that.

Blink AMI has impacted my organization very positively. We have seen the changes in the revenue, team workflow, and interactions.

    What needs improvement?

Blink AMI can be improved if you try to be more consistent and deliver the same kind of troubleshooting and assistance in times of need; we would be more reliable and very happy to be with you because it is very profitable for us on the positive side. I do not have anything specific to add about the needed improvements.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Blink AMI for seven or eight months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

How would you rate customer service and support?

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I did not previously use a different solution.

    What was our ROI?

As far as I have known, we have about positive growth of about ten to eleven percent in return on investment.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

My previous person in charge of this put Blink AMI in place, and I did not evaluate other options.

What other advice do I have?

My advice for others looking into using Blink AMI is to stick to your protocols and do what is needed. My company has a business relationship with this vendor as a reseller and partner. I would rate this product a seven out of ten.
