What do you like best about the product?

What I like best about Qlik Sense is the way its associative engine handles complex, multi-table telecom and activation datasets without breaking the model. For our modem activation dashboards, it’s extremely helpful to link VIN-level data, activation events, modem health signals, and backend system logs in a single Qlik data model. The ability to script transformations in the load editor, perform incremental loads, and manage large QVD layers makes the pipeline stable even with high-volume activation data.

The visual layer is equally strong-things like set analysis, custom expressions, and responsive KPIs let me build very granular views (e.g., activation rate by model year, carrier, region, modem type, or failure codes). The SaaS version performs especially well for heavy dashboards, while the on-prem version gives more control over data gateways and refresh schedules. Overall, Qlik Sense allows me to handle complex activation workflows and root-cause analysis in a way that’s both scalable and technically flexible.

What do you dislike about the product?

The biggest downside of Qlik Sense is that some of the advanced features still require a fair amount of scripting. Things like complex data transformations, incremental loads, or handling edge-case modem activation logic often need Qlik load script workarounds instead of native UI-based solutions. Managing section access and data security rules can also get tricky, especially in environments with multiple data sources and frequent schema changes. On the visualisation side, the customisation options are somewhat limited unless you rely on extensions, which aren’t always stable or supported across SaaS and on-prem.
Performance can also be inconsistent-large activation datasets load well with QVDs, but live connections or heavy front-end calculations can slow down both SaaS and on-prem servers. Overall, Qlik Sense is powerful, but the complexity in scripting, limited UI customization, and dependency on strong data modeling skills are the main pain points.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Qlik Sense helps solve the problem of pulling together large datasets related to modem activation-things like VIN details, activation events, carrier data, modem health logs, and backend system statuses. Before Qlik, this information was scattered, making it hard to identify activation failures or delays quickly.
With Qlik Sense, I can consolidate all of this into a single data model and build dashboards that show real-time activation rates, failure patterns, and region- or model-specific issues. The associative engine makes it easy to drill down into specific VINs, modem types, or error codes without manually running queries.
This directly benefits us by improving visibility into activation performance, speeding up root-cause analysis, and reducing the time spent on manual reporting. From a business perspective, it supports faster decision-making, helps track customer connectivity issues, and ultimately improves the quality and reliability of connected vehicle services.

There are several features in qliksense which makes it stand out among BI tools specially while handling large dataset such as its associative model, wide variety of functions to transform data and set analysis to handle the data which is going to be displayed in UI.

What do you dislike about the product?

What I most dislike about Qliksense is the amount of time I had to spend to get handle on all the script function and kind of loads. It has vast number of functions which is not easy for beginners to use.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Qliksense allows integration of data from different data source. Also it allows features such as incremental load and binary load which help to reduce data redundancy, reload time and makes the load less memory extensive.
Qliksense script allows us transform messy data into structured, analysis ready formats.

Qlick Sense is best tool for data analysis and we can connect multiple data source with Qlick Sense and make report accordingly.

What do you dislike about the product?

When we comparision with static target with achived target, multiple values do not change by filter.

Qlick Sense solves so many problems like all data in single plateform, creating customization reports, able to take decesion basis on reports.

Customer support is superb.

Limitations for users due to the cost.
