Empowering public sector innovation: How AWS Partners are accelerating their generative AI adoption
At Amazon Web Services (AWS), we are committed to empowering our partners to accelerate their cloud innovation journeys. Our AWS Partner Transformation Program (PTP) is an important part of this commitment, offering comprehensive assessment, training, and enablement to help our public sector partners build successful and profitable AWS-based businesses.
In 2023, we expanded PTP to include Targeted Transformation Modules (TTMs), which provide tailored guidance to help AWS Partners accelerate their journey in specific topic areas. These one-on-one consulting engagements have covered topics such as developing a Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) and maximizing profitability with AWS in public sector.
Accelerating generative AI adoption
To help our public sector Partners unlock the business value of generative artificial intelligence (AI), we launched a dedicated Generative AI TTM in May 2024. Based on partner feedback, the Generative AI TTM helps partners receive customized guidance in three key areas:
- Foundation: Training and resources to expand knowledge of generative AI technology
- Skills: Internal technical gap analysis and learning paths to develop technical capabilities
- Use Cases: Identifying and prioritizing generative AI use cases in public sector based on the partner’s vertical and growth strategy
In just nine months, 70 AWS Partners have leveraged the Generative AI TTM, helping them identify unique generative AI use cases working backwards from their customers, equipping them with the expertise to bring innovative solutions to public sector customers, and improving citizen experiences.
In this post, I would like to share how two AWS Partners, Ness and CloudThat, used the Generative AI TTM to drive innovation and accelerate their generative AI journeys, benefiting government agencies and education customers.
Ness: Accelerating AI capabilities
Ness, an AWS Advanced tier Partner since 2022, participated in the Generative AI TTM in Q1 2024 to accelerate their AI capabilities and deploy generative AI solutions for their public sector clients.
Gabriela Shlomo, Vice President of the AWS Division at Ness, said, “Our objective in joining the Generative AI TTM pilot was to accelerate our capabilities in generative AI, gain early access to the latest AWS generative AI technologies, and position ourselves as a leader in the AI services market.”
The Ness team leveraged the TTM process to:
- Reduce time-to-market for their generative AI solutions
- Enhance their team’s expertise
- Strengthen their AWS partnership
- Utilize AWS generative AI funding to reduce costs for proofs of concept and solution development
Ness prioritized and delivered generative AI solutions using Amazon Bedrock and Amazon Translate for public sector, banking, and finance customers. These solutions included summarization, information extraction, sentiment analysis, topic classification, and data visualization. By automating and optimizing AWS Cloud services Ness was able to help their customers achieve 40 percent improvement in analyst efficiency and productivity and 45 percent reduction in data processing and loading workflows.
CloudThat: Building a targeted go-to-market strategy
CloudThat, an AWS Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) training partner 2023 award winner, joined the Generative AI TTM program to assess their generative AI capabilities and execute a go-to-market strategy.
Bhavesh Goswami, Founder and CEO of CloudThat Technologies Pvt. Ltd, said, “The Generative AI TTM helped us assess our generative AI capabilities, structure our marketing communications, and build a targeted go-to-market strategy to reach our customers.”
Through the TTM program, CloudThat:
- Prioritized the development and launch of generative AI solutions, including text summarization, generating new teaching material, and video summarization
- Built an AWS generative AI innovation center for services such as Amazon Bedrock, Amazon Q, and Amazon SageMaker
- Offered free generative AI assessments and proofs-of-concept to customers
Within three months, CloudThat engaged with 140 education technology (EdTech) companies, qualifying more than 25 opportunities and three active proofs-of-concept. They leveraged AWS generative AI funding to reduce costs and demonstrate solutions for their customers.
Driving innovation in the public sector
Ness and CloudThat represent just two of the many global partner success stories that showcase the impact of the AWS Generative AI TTM in empowering partners to deliver innovative AI solutions to the public sector. These examples highlight how AWS, through its expertise, funding support, and go-to-market strategies, is catalyzing a new wave of technological advancement that promises to transform government services and citizen experiences.
I hope these examples provide you with inspiration as you plan your generative AI roadmap.
