Vandenberg Space Force Base (VSFB), also known as the Western Launch and Test Range, is one of only two U.S. Space Force launch ranges. A safe rocket launch relies on the ability of Western Range meteorologists to gather and analyze weather data in real-time. Skillshare decided to test Amazon Personalize from AWS to make these data-fueled recommendations for members with machine learning. Education technology (EdTech) company GoGuardian announces the availability of a Go Client library for Amazon Kinesis Data Streams via open source. Go is a widely used language among developers for streaming applications that was previously not available for Amazon Kinesis Data Streams (Amazon KDS).

The city used the Zocdoc Vaccine Scheduler built on AWS.

Telehealth solutions make virtual, real-time interactions between patient and provider possible. These solutions can be beneficial for both patients and care providers, letting patients receive care without having to step into a doctor’s office—a key feature that has benefits for those in hard-to-reach or rural areas and patients with mobility issues. Additionally, these solutions can help reduce physical traffic in hospitals, which is imperative during the pandemic. The impact of COVID-19 has K12 and higher education institutions working hard to prepare for students to return to learning that will be anything but typical.
