Amazon WorkDocs Drive Offline access and search

Amazon WorkDocs is a fully managed, secure content creation, storage, and collaboration service that allows user to access their content from anywhere on any device. Amazon WorkDocs Drive provides access to user’s cloud content directly from Windows Explorer and Mac Finder.  The  ‘WorkDocs Drive Offline Access’ feature ensures your WorkDocs cloud content is available regardless of internet connectivity  – in a plane, in a remote office or in other areas with poor network bandwidth.

The WorkDocs Drive user interface makes it easy to select the files and folders that you need for offline access. During the selection process you can view information about the total disk space the content will take up on your computer. Once configured, WorkDocs Drive immediately begins downloading the content to your computer and the WorkDocs Drive UI provides real-time status while download is in progress.

You can continue working on the content uninterrupted  while download or upload is in progress. If there are a large number of files or folders selected for download making the entire process lengthy, you can turn off your computer or go offline, and WorkDocs Drive will continue the download where it left off, whenever you come back online next.

WorkDocs Drive keeps the downloaded content in sync with WorkDocs cloud while your computer is connected to internet. If you or someone else make changes to the content while you are offline, WorkDocs Drive automatically uploads the latest content, so you are always working with most recent version of your files.

The new Search feature in WorkDocs Drive makes is easy to discover your WorkDocs content. To search offline files bring up WorkDocs Drive UI and enter the desired search term in the search box in the top navigation bar. Hitting ‘Enter’ will automatically search all content to which you have access to, is available offline and results will display list of related files. Files in the search results will have corresponding owner, last modified date and file size attributes information displayed.
