Cisco Secure Firewall Cloud Native (SFCN) is a lightweight network firewall in a cloud-native form factor. Offering granular control and massive throughput potential, SFCN enables security at the speed of business. It offers an easy way to deploy scalable remote access VPN architecture as its primary use case. The solution utilizes Amazon Amazon EKS and other cloud-native services including Amazon ElastiCache for Redis and Amazon Amazon EFS.

An important design consideration for cloud-based client VPN service architectures is the choice of authentication mechanism to use for connecting remote users to VPN services. Cisco ASAv Remote Access VPN integrates with Cisco Duo to add multi-factor authentication to ASAv AnyConnect VPN connections. Cisco is an AWS ISV Partner that helps customers optimize their cloud strategy by bringing together networking, security, analytics, and management.

Cisco SD-WAN provides a secure cloud scale architecture designed to meet the complex needs of modern WANs through three key areas: advanced application optimization, multi-layered security, and cloud integration. In this post, we will evaluate multiple Cisco SD-WAN (Software Defined Wide Area Network) architectures on AWS, which enable customers to extend the common policy, segmentation, and security of their SD-WAN environments at scale in an operationally efficient manner.
