Amazon RDS for SQL Server now supports Microsoft SQL Server 2017 and SQL Server 2016 SP1 CU5 for Express, Web, Standard and Enterprise Editions on the Windows Operating Systems. You can now leverage SQL Server 2017 features such as GraphDB, Automatic Plan Correction, and Resumable Index Rebuilds on your Amazon RDS SQL Server Instances.

Amazon RDS for SQL Server 2017 and 2016 SP1 CU5 can be deployed using the licenses you currently own, with the ‘Bring Your Own License’ option or by paying for licenses by the hour with the ‘License Included’ option.
To create a new Amazon RDS for SQL Server 2017 DB Instance, use the "Launch DB Instance" wizard in the AWS Management Console, choose SQL Server and select “14.00.1000.169.v1” as the DB Engine Version. SQL Server 2017 is now available on Amazon RDS in all AWS commercial regions.
